      hello jazz,

I am so, so happy to hear that your child also in Newton kindergarten ! Welcome to Newton !

      kekekekekeke …. 🙂

you have certainly made the right choice.
Newton kindergarten is a very, very established kindergarten.

someone told me this … 30 years ago, former CK Tang’s daughter was the principal of Newton kindergarten. She was the past principal at Newton many years ago. Today she has since retired, probably now in her 60’s.

        dear parents of autistic children,

if you are looking for a suitable kindergarten, you may consider Newton kindergarten.

You don’t have to suffer in silence.
I fully understand the pain you are going through.
most exasperating is - many times, you feel helpless.
I don’t have the answer and when it really gets at you, just remember that your Heavenly Father is right beside you, though He is invisible.
Remember to call on Him for help !

the current Newton kindergarten principal is very kind, accomodative.
I received feedback from my child classmates’ parents.
autistic kids are also welcome into Newton kindergarten.

my child’s classmate parents shared with me his own personal experience – the current school Principal does not even bother to assess his autistic child.

the Principal welcomes your child with open arms, and ask – why not give your child a chance ? Let your child come in, try out first. Unlike many most other kindergartens principals he ever spoken before, where they insist / request to bring your child down for assessment first. Plus some unkind remarks other principals comment which pissed him off, dampen his spirit.

your son last time ever from Newton kindergarten too ?
is he in ACS Primary, Nanyang Primary, or graduated from PSLE, now in Secondary school ?

if your son ever from Newton kindergarten last time 10 yrs ago, can provide feedback what and how had yr son gained / benefited from Newton ?

you are our elder - since yr son is 1 generation decade before our small little kids here. Thank you so much for your generous, valuable, important feedback!

i am sure many parents with kids currently enrolled at Newton would love to hear from you too.

wishing you a BLESSED NEW YEAR, 2011.

                      Hi Greenbean,

No Chinese enrichment for ds, coz I find that if a parent dun teach or revise with the child, no amount of enrichment can helps. But that's only my opinion lah. 😉

                        hi laughingcat,

                        you’re absolutely right !
our current principal is relatively new.
Yes ! she joined around beginning Term 1, last year 2010.

but I like this new Principal.
when I spoke to her - I find her a very practical, down to earth, gentle lady.

I respect her as Principal - who dare to make changes for the benefit of students in the school. She is the one who introduced the new 4 hrs daily curriculum programme to kids at level Nursery, K1 and K2, wef 2011.

for younger pre-nursery kids, she also introduced new change.
she gave these parents a new option to choose – 3 or 4 hrs programme.

normally for term 1, parents with pre-nursery kids will choose 3 hrs initially first. But once their kids settle down well, get used to the warm, friendly, caring school environment, parents can change them slowly over to 4 hrs eventually. No hurry, just take time for your child to get adjusted well.

wef 2011, some other kindergarten also start to introduce > 3 hrs daily kindergarten programme. Some had changed to 3.5 hrs, ie. half an hr more everyday. But to me, half an hour more doesn’t really help much, just my own opinion.

moving forward ahead, seems like … there will be more and more kindergarten slowly switching over to > 3 hrs daily programme.
