Hey Greenbean - Prosperous New Year to you too! Thank you for your quick and detailed response. It's such a blessing to have your sharing here as I do become clearer of what I want for my kid. I know if I'm willing to travel to Novena/Newton area... I would have more options and choices but it is a little out of the way cos' I don't drive. And I heard taking school bus will take at least one hour per trip for my place. I seriously cannot bear to let my kid suffer like that. As such, I'm not likely to opt for pre-schools around that area even if it's world-best. Just to share, I don't even know Nanyang Kindergarten existed until the recent news. I do feel incompetent at times as a mother... sigh. But I guess I'm still the world-best mom to my kid (at least I would like to think so... Hahaha). For now, I will continue to pray about it and see where HE leads me on. Am sure it will all be good πŸ™‚ Thanks again for your info!

        Thanks Greenbean!

Barker road more suitable for my boy, coz I can't teach English. I dunno phonics, no matter how I learn. 😞

But I can teach Chinese. Haha...

However, barker road is very inconvenient for me. I dun drive, so public transport is the only key, other than sch bus. It's a bit way out for me. 😞

          hi,

sorry, I made a typo mistake.
          wish to rectify.

in my earlier msg, my friend who brought her 2 brmck kids to Kumon chinese, taught by a native chinese teacher from China – was located at Kumon, Block 302 Ang Mo Kio.

I typed wrongly – should be AMK, not Bishan.

she commented that Kumon chinese at this AMK branch was good.

Neumind was previously known as BHR, located along Bishan St 22.

DD was there for pre-school English enrichment for about a year when they were still in Bishan. They were pretty good. The person in charge was Ms Gan (not sure whether it’s still her). When we spoke to her, we could really feel her dedication and love for educating the young minds. That, coupled with walking distance from our home, prompted us to sign DD up for their lessons.

We stopped after they moved to Sin Ming.

                Thanks bigD for your comment!

Is it because of the distance that you stop DD from attending or because she is bigger now? The class not suitable?

Does anyone have good recommendations of any good child cares in Ang Mo Kio area that is not inside shopping centres? (don’t like the idea of my kid stuck in air conditioning for half a day.)

We stopped mainly because it's no longer within walking distance. The hike in course fee didn't sit well with us either. πŸ˜›

Elena - perhaps you can consider Babies Resort - that’s the only childcare I know in AMK that does not have air-conditioning. My boy is schooling there and so far so good but new management is taking over in May.
