      hi

If i sign a tenancy agreement and will stay at rental place before school starts next year but not BEFORE registration, can I just bring tenancy agreemtn for registration? will the school accept it?

      anyone has any experience?

How, then, can you change the address in your NRIC to reflect the tenanted place if you don't move in before registration? :scratchhead:

Thanks, I am aware that the school will follow the IC address. However, I read briefly ( not sure where in the forum) that some parents have seen other parents at the registration armed with OTP agreements or sales purchases to prove their 'future' address, so I was wondering if it also applies to tenancy agreements.

If i understand correctly from what I read a few pages before in this thread, for purchased properties, if it's not ready for moving in / have not TOP.. the sales agreement would suffice, even if IC address not changed yet.

anyone done this or seen it done, thanks

I think the agreement part only refers to UNcompleted properties, and in fact the TOP of such properties must be within a certain time range (ie not 5 years down the road kind of thing).

Rental Agreement means the property has been completed for occupation.

Nobody rents an incomplete property as nobody can be sure how it will be like upon completion or the certainty of completion date /move-in date.

hence rental agreement to move in in the future is treated as a sham unless the NRIC is updated with the same address. and of course there will be dire consequences if this found to be fake

so not sure if I will be in time to rent AND shift in before registration starts.. cutting it really close if so.. hmm.. will have to think of other options then..

Thanks again to everyone for sharing your knowledge :celebrate:

it seems like rental place is only temporary and own house is waiting for tenancy to run out. if you intend to move back to own house, then obviously you can't use the temp rental agreement....unless you stay in it for the next few years while the own house is continuously tenanted (assumed is private property, for HDB you MUST live in it)

hoping to find a place within walking distance of the primary school and yes, if kid gets in, planning to stay there for the whole 6 years.. if we like it there, may even uproot the whole clan to the area ( pipe dream? )

                    see how la..

                      Hi Moon

The primary one admission registration fall from 6 July 2010 to Monday to 30 August 2010 - And since you guys are coming back in June, it’ll probably be more than enough time to scout for the right unit to move in - whilst getting ready for admission.

Probably should start shortlisting/searching for the right unit in May and you should be set.

I have plans to shift to my parents’ area due to ease of my kids to be taken care by my parents after school.

But I have a property under both my hb and my name which we dun intend to sell yet.

Can I change my IC address to my parents address to register for my child P1 in Ai Tong (as my parents place is < 1km) ? Does MOE require both my hb and my IC to be changed to my parents’ address to register for P1 for that school ? Can both parents have different address when we register ?

                        Thanks.
