Waaa.... same with mine.. Difficult to wake him up to go to school, and also difficult to make him do his homework.. :?
Mon-Wed will dismiss at 130pm...complains hungry after school, so must have lunch first...so bathing delayed. Makes her take nap at 3pm but only does so at 330pm. Will try to wake her up at 5 with little success. Dinner at 7 followed by quick shower at 8pm...2-3 pages of Eng or Math.
Most 'productive' between 8-9pm bcos son also doing his assessment/HW.
Sleeps at 11pm, wakes up at 6am. -

DS1 so used to sleep at about 11pm as he naps in the afternoon during his yrs in CC and won't be able to fall asleep so early.
Has decided to bring him to school (instead of by school bus) so that he can has more zzz time and wake up at about 6.15am everyday
DS1 is those need time to adjust new environment, 1st week was ok, but his nose always red red when he reaches school, as he's in all boys school, think he dun dare to cry, cos no face hahahaha -

Fortunately she has no problems waking up at 6.janet_lee88:

All your kids’ schedules make me think my dd is getting too little sleep. She wakes up at 6:15 am, no nap during the day (after school) and goes to bed at 9:30pm. But if I put her to bed earlier than that, I will not get any time at all with her in the evenings (am a working mum).

ds is in p1 as well. wakes up between 6.15-6.30, out of house by 7.10.
for days he has cca and chinese lesson, he will usually be home by 4.30-5pm. but sometimes later because we need to pick dd up from school.
usually weekdays, we dont do much work because no time and he has to be in bed by 9pm. anyway, not much homework from school as well.
we usually do this revision on sat/sun.
after my unpleasant experience in trying to teach dd myself, i am no longer doing so much with ds. i am planning to send him to enrichment classes.
ds doesnt like to nap in the pm, so by 9 pm, he is always ready for bed. we usually read a story together, turn off the light and listen to music and by the time the 3rd song is over, our friend is already in dreamland.

My daughter must have her nap in the afternoon or she will be very grouchy by 6pm...but she will go to bed at 1045pm latest. Wakes up at 6am on weekdays.DS1 so used to sleep at about 11pm as he naps in the afternoon during his yrs in CC and won't be able to fall asleep so early.

I think she is quite adjusted to P1. Last Fri, she had her jab. Asked her whether she cried and she told me she didn't although it was painful. On the way home, she complained about painful arm...she won't cry bcos no face but very 'xiao jie' at home. She is in an all girls school. -
Dear parents,
I hope parents could share your experience regarding the preparation for primary school and time schedule spend with your kids.
I have a son of 6 this year going to P1 next year.
I would like to find out with parents things that you are doing with your child prior going P1, cos I do not want to react too kan-jiong or too relax in front of my child.
I am particularly concerned about the 3 main subjects being taught in P1 and wonder should I expect him to be able to do the assessment books given him in order to be sure that he is ready for P1? How do I know he is ready?
Currently, I am using the assessment books of English, Mathematics and Chinese to let him do at home. At times, he is doing both Chinese and English one after another, depending on the amount of time spent on each subject. If one of the subject has taken him too long, I will let him do other subject on another day.
I wonder should I draft out a time table to both of us to follow? How to plan?
How intensive should parents prepare for their kid prior P1?
Heard that there is Pre-preparation workshop or class for Primary 1, where can I look for? Or is it necessary for kid to attend?
Can parents share your time table for activities such as study and leisure with your child / children with me?
Thanks in advance!
