      Happy Mama:

Actually I bought ingredients to try your recipe. Happily shopped for all the ingredients (except the black sauce since I wasn't sure, so decided to use my own first).

Then when I reached home and was going through the recipe, I realised I forgot to buy MEI CAI! How to make Mei Cai Kou Rou withtout the Mei Cai?! ๐Ÿ˜ข So I ended up tweaking the recipe and made Kou Rou instead. :stupid:

Thank goodness, DH, DD and my parents loved it and said it was delicious! Thanks for the recipe.
Alamak......Mei Cai Kou Rou without Mei Cai....... :rotflmao: :faint:
u shd have tell me earlier, i can \"post\" it to u....haha
b4 CNY i went to the wet market and bot 1 kg of it (becos i seldom go wet market mah.....so bot more)

thanksfully, yr Kou Rou turned out good..... ๐Ÿ˜„
for Kou Rou alone, i forgo the tomato sauce and chilli bean sauce, but i still add some dried chilli to it.
oh ya...put in some ๆก‚็šฎ (cinnamon sticks) together with some star anise.

        Happy Mama:

Thanks Augmum. I went to NTUC Finest at Bt Timah this morning but they don't carry this brand. ๐Ÿ˜ข Looks like must get it from Giant.
happy mama, recently i have seen it at ntuc supermarket, not sure abt ntuc finest.
in the past, this brand of dark soya sauce is not commonly seen,
but nowadays not so, i had also ever seen it selling at sheng siong.

              Hi Augmum,

I'd like to try your recipe. For the preserved veg, can I buy it at the supermarket? Any particular brand? I've seen the salty one, not the sweet one.

For the tomato sauce, is that the canned one or ketchup?

Thanks! The dish looks really delicious.

jtoh, so did u try out my recipe of ๆข…่œๆ‰ฃ่‚‰ ??
i remember the other time u were asking for the ingredients, any feedback for me ??

              Hi Augmum,

Sorry, missed this message. The threads here go so fast. No, i haven't tried out your recipe yet. Haven't bought my mei cai yet. Still very keen though. Will post here when I do. Thanks!
