          Oh yah. Very absent-minded. I must go dig up my recipe.

            Augmum, here’s the buttercream icing recipe:


            1 cup butter (2 sticks or 1/2 pound), softened
            3-4 cups confectioners (powdered) sugar, sifted
            1/2 tsp table salt
            1 Tbs vanilla extract
            2-3 tablespoons milk or cream

            Cream butter until softened. Add 3 cups sugar. When that’s mixed well, add salt, vanilla extract and milk/cream. Adjust sugar and milk to achieve the consistency you want. If you want it stiffer, add more milk. Too stiff, add a little milk.

                jtoh, can use vanilla essence instead of vanilla extract ??

                when u mentioned \"Cream\" what type of cream, must it be the whipping cream? (those packet form)

                  Vanilla extract and vanilla essence are different. But should be okay to substitute. But I think essence is stronger than extract in taste, so maybe use less first. Add more later according to taste.
