      Hi plum-cake,

:offtopic: My son came back with the CA1 time-table yesterday...have to get new Science assessment books to revise his SA1/2 from what I see :faint:
It's good to test topics in P3 bcos PSLE actually consists of Science taught from P3 onwards. For this subject, I use a lot of assessment books.

I will check out Step up Grammar next time I go to IMM. Thanks.
I am not exposed to science books yet. I thot of getting the conquer science for p2.. which Tinkerbelle quoted. since you need them for SA1/2 you can wait and check @ pop expo sale..

regarding step up grammar..... its child friendly format, explenation. go thru all the levels. cos I bought 3&4 for p2. the books are not aranged according to syllabus. it is going as level 1, 2... by the way its published in 2011. good one. my opinion

Saw this tite Step Up Grammar...will check it out next time...most prob pretty soon 😉
I've bought many Science assessment books since start of P3...very shocked that I can actually use up so many. Reason is bcos of revision at every level. At CA1, SA1/2 for P3-5, the basic is always tested so that kids do not forget. The other reason is bcos upper block Science (P5-6) is built on foundation. Was just telling hubby I actualy kept up some of the P3 Science assessment books for younger daughter but looks like it's not possible :moneyflies:
Still deciding whether to go to Popular Expo or not. 😢

          Hi plum-cake,

My hubby came back after the P1 briefing...told me a lot of stuff to be expected 😓

The principal told the parents that work will be done in school as anything brought home is likely to be done by parents. I like this
The girls have to borrow 4 books - 2 English, 2 Chinese, which parents are encouraged to read to them.

Hey, my girl likes 'My Pals' Eng Homework Book. It was easier to get her attention as compared to Conquer...maybe bcos the print font is friendlier.

              Hi plum-cake,

I started her on My Pals Eng Homework A…it was certainly a breeze moving on. Son told me he also did the same book when he was in P1.
Most prob I will get My Pals Eng Homework for P2 if avail…if not, then it will be the Step up Grammar you mentioned…thanks.

From the Eng worksheets brought home from school, I realized my gal doesn’t write capital letters for first letter as well as proper nouns. Her teacher also wrote comments about it.
Will try to move faster for English in order to reinforce the importance of capital letters.

Yes that's the first lesson they teach after teaching nouns... capital letter is also part of grammar. I'll check the my pals eng homework next time. but not going to buy any thing.... loads of books just sitting and watching me every time I go to her room 😉 but I have an eye on the con science

                  Hi plum-cake,

I have loads of brand new books sitting on the shelf and watching when I take one of them out to be written on. Get excited when I see new publication  now hope these books won't be white elephants trumpeting on the shelves.
If time permits, I'll buy the Conquer Science at the next possible opportunity. I think YOU AND I can shake hands bcos we are truly QUEENS of assessment books. :rotflmao:

                        My opinion.

                        For grammar

I like step up grammar because the explenation is good. It has a colourful learning section, to practice I have many books but .... sorry I don't have any EPH, my pals for english  Most of them are from learners. then casco one oxfd comprehension.study helpers vocab and comprehension. But I have conquer titles from p1,p2
grammar, vocab, comprehension, cloze, editing n punc, synth n trans etc etc.
