JEI/PSLE Math - Discussion

Hi Saralim,Hi Sydney/24hr-mum,
I have a P2 girl. She find math difficult and I am worried she will grow to hate the subject. I did some surfing and notice your conversation.
Before I make a trip to Marine Parade, hope I can hear your opinion about their programme since both of you have seen their workbooks and spoken to them.
Do they do hard selling like some tuition school?
Thanks!
They don't hard sell. The people there are passionate about the programme and would make effort to explain to you in details. Jason at Marine Parade would probably be the best person to share with you. Make an appointment with him. Ask him for a free trial he will likely obliged if timing fits.
I strongly suggest you make a visit to the centre to view the materials and ask him all the hard questions

Marine Parade is too far away for us too, thanks for your info.Looks like they've a few branches now?I wonder how Jason is going to teach so many branches :?i hvnt enrol. my feedback is based on wat i had gathered frm talking to jason n the materials
he emailed me one jei bklet sample, they hv questions such as
10- __=3. this is same as p1 syllabus.
this type i hvnt seen in enopi or mpm (but my kids were on mpm or enopi for long period also, so maybe i m wrong)
if u do go down, better make appt first with jason.

alltheway:
hi alltheway,Regarding the question on:- \"do they do Pre-school? PSLE Math sound like only for P6.\"
- They do actually. My younger boy who is in K2 this year attends the JEI math class. He has been attending since K1. They go according to your child's ability and therefore the child can progress at his own pace. When he first joined, they gave him a short test to evaluate his maths ability. Depending on the score, the teacher will recommend the appropriate starting level.
- My elder child who is in P3 enjoys the class. He was previously doing Kumon and was at Level G when he stopped last year. He did complain abt the difficulty on the maths questions and we noticed that his problem sums are not that good. Hence, decided to give JEI cum PSLE Maths a try and he has been doing great in maths.
who is the teacher for p3? gd? whc branch? -
I went down to JEI Marine Parade this afternoon. After looking at the materials, I signed up my P2 girl and start the lesson on the same day so happen there was a P2 class going on. Her teacher is Jason. Will try it out for a term.

Hi 24hr-mum,
My p3 boy’s teacher is kenrick. My son likes his teaching and looks forward to his class.
At the end of each class, kenrick will go through with me the material which he has covered for that lesson and highlight areas which he’s good and areas which need more concentration and improvement.
I find thisgood as I can then revise with him at home. -
thats very gd. plan to do the trial and start after my girl’s ca at beginning march

Seems there is a lot of good feedback about this centre. Do you know when the AMK one is starting and where exactly would it be?
I am looking for one for my youngest. How are they different from onsponge?
