You know, in everything my kids are learning, I welcome new skills taught. But not too challenging, to the extent of killing their interests. For that, I rather they learn in slower pace. W/o interest sustained, everything is nullified.

      Totally agreed.

Btw Jennifer, I heard alot of parents saying fr P4 to P5 is a huge jump. Why is that so? How badly wld one do in their p5 CA1?

My elder boy had no prob with EL then. HCL was and still is a struggle for him. Sci was ok, just that HOD was newly appointed that year, so new HOD, new stds in how answers are to be more specific. MA was the killer, more wordy, more steps and new topics.

For my elder boy, there was an almost 20+ points drop in his MA. HCL also slipped to 70+. He took my advice lightly n did not practice enough for MA.

I think not every pupil will find P5 too difficult esp if the child has been hardworking.

Your child in P5 this year?

Yap, time mgt. More workload in P5. I remembered I had a talk with my elder boy to agree that PC games only allowed during weekends on P5 n P6.

Am thinking of implementing this with my younger boy soon. My elder boy was in JOY4 then, not so much sch homework.

I was advised by a TCM physician to introduce tonics (pao shen) to my elder boy then. He claimed pao shen helps in brain stamina, so the child can pay attention in class despite late nights. But I did not heed this advice. Just make sure he has sufficient rest n does not keep late nights.
