Hi all! This year's orientation was really fun! Unfortunately, half of our cohort had to leave for third lang on Tue šŸ˜ž The campfire was hilarious. It was a bunch of sticks wrapped around with christmas lights O_O Still fun though. Classes are very much more enjoyable than in Primary school. Yeah, we knew our classes since day 1 and we aren't grouped according to houses anymore. The students are all really friendly. NJC is so big I had trouble finding LT3... Oh well. šŸ˜›

I had problems looking for the toilet, and LT3 is for posting of CAFE result right?

There's this CAFE programme. You'll join 3 different CCAs throughout the year for 10 sessions each. The available choices are the niche CCAs. You can also join the other CCAs but you'll have to go for both the CAFE and the other CCA.

it will be two ccas now.

Unless you can apply for exemption from cafe.

At present my boy is attending a centre @ Beauty World Centre (Upper Bt Timah Rd). Our focus is on CL vocabulary n compreh. I understand that this tutor also teaches compo. She is the no-nonsense type but very detailed (to some extent long winded).

The lesson is once a week, 2 hours each lesson. For lower sec level, the fee is $340 per 10 lessons. Small group teaching.

Her classroom mix is a bit unusual. In a class of 3-4 students, not all of same level - some lower sec, some upper sec. She will go around teaching n the students will attempt worksheets.

So far, each lesson stretches beyond 2 hours as she will review the worksheets tge with the student and if she sees the parents already waiting outside, she will invite the parent into the classroom to do the worksheet review as well.

There is also home assignment to do.

Hi Jennifer, can PM the info. Name of centre/add and name of the teacher. Btw, is the teacher a PRC?

                      Many thanks!
