That's true - the 281 might not include HMT.

However, is there any indication / clarification from MOE if the highest / lowest COPs for SAP secondary schools indicated in their website takes into consideration HMT points or not? With this clarification, at least there is no ambiguity for COP consideration when applying for SAP secondary schools.

That's true - the 281 might not include HMT.

but we cannot generalise it as 3 points. some may get zero, 1, 2, or 3 points for the HCL, or pupils of other races without HCL will be zerobonus points too unless they have taken HCL

it is interesting to note that for those sec schools with COP below 200, quite a number of them have some very high score!

You missed my point totally. First of all, I did not say bright kids must go via DSA. I made the comment purely for the benefits of future DSA applicants. After every DSA exercise, we have many parents/kids who are disappointed for not getting into their dream school. By highlighting the fact that the NYGS girl with the highest T-score did not get into her school via DSA, I hope to encourage those who fail to secure a place in their dream school via DSA.

Students who do very well academically and consistently do not need to apply via DSA. All sch will accept them for their high PSLE score. DSA is more for students who are gd in sports and want to go to a gd sch, or students who are not so gd but try to get a place in a gd sch or sch of their choice.

Sorry sall, I cannot agree with this comment of yours \"... that DSA is more for students who are not so gd but try to get a place in a gd sch..\" 90% of NUSH cohort are enrolled yearly via DSA. Are you saying that these NUSH kids are not so good? Also, I know of a top GEP school which expects all their GEPers to secure a place in their school of choice during the DSA phase. This school set this kind of expectation because that had been their record for the past few years. I would say DSA is for anyone, bright or otherwise, who wants to secure a place in their dream school before they take their PSLE.

Their lang marks for psle may pull down the overall score. I know of a few students who will not get a chance to go NUSH if they didn't DSA. That's because they only scored A for Language and that affected the overall score. DD's classmates are good examples, they are v good in Maths and Science, but weaker in Lang, got into NUSH via DSA.
There is also a boy who is talented in Sc and Maths, but not gd in lang, but his score was pulled down by lang. If he had tried dsa to NUSH, he would be able to secure a place there.
For students who are v good in a sport but not so good in studies, then they can try to secure a place in gd sch via dsa , using sport talent. 2 girls I know dsa into NYGH via sports, and their psle score was only 234 and 231. Another boy got into RV via dsa sports, his psle score was below 230. This is what I meant when I said weaker students who wanted gd sch will try dsa. For v gd students, there is no need to secure a place. With the good results, they are welcomed everywhere with open arms.

I know some who got DSA into NUSH but achieved score of 240 because only got A for EL & CL, just as you said above

I think it was you who mentioned that the published aggregate does not include students who got into a school via DSA, as such, I concluded that the girl with T-score of 281 did not get into NYGS via DSA and this was exactly what I stated - the girl did not get into her school via DSA. Nowhere did I mention that girl failed her DSA. I believe there is a big difference between did not get into the school via DSA and failed in the DSA quest.
