Neuromath Tuition Centre - Discussion

Since your school set the Maths std that is so high (wah...probably half the school failed with mean of 40/100)..then you can't really gauge whether Norman Tien is producing results or not. The school is setting a paper that is beyond the normal ability of the child! A better analysis will be how far ahead or behind the sch average compared to before his tuition.I also sent my son to Norman Tien Group + individual lessons...
After spending $$$$ for last 5 months, my son did not show much improvement from SA2 result.
But no doubts, the teachers are good and my son enjoys the lessons.
The teacher (from Norman Tien) said that the poor result was partly due to the unexpected challenging questions from his school ( Primary 5)
(ref to my post on average marks 40/100 maths forum)

Is your son from Gongshang Pri where the mean score is 44 after everyone add 5 more marks. Some of my students get above 70 for SA2 Maths in GSPS.My son is from neighbourhood school in Tampines... not even top 30 schools.
But just don't know why the MATHS paper2 was so tough and his form teacher told me that the school set PSLE standard for this SA2.
Then I asked the teacher : \"Why set PSLE standard whereby the P5 kids are still not at that \"mark\" and almost everyone failed with a mean mark of 40 ?\"

Hi, have anyone send their kids to NeuroMaths for class? From the website, the founder is Mr. Norman Tien, who is well-known for solving challenging maths problems. Thought of sending my DD for a placement test...
Anyone who has kids currently in their program, can share your views? Really looking forward to hear from you guys!!! Cheers!!!

Their holiday classes are starting, perhaps you could try them out first :lol:Hi, have anyone send their kids to NeuroMaths for class? Thank you for your reply. Can I know how old is your girl? Is it difficult to understand their teaching?

Hi Kay22, My girl is in P5 this year, I signed her up when she started P4. Ive asked my girl about their teaching method and she says tat they combine all methods to simplify a problem sum to make it easier for her to manage.
Regarding their fees, I dont hv the exact figure now but was paying something like $700 plus incl tax for P4 and that was for a 1 1/2 hr class. Shes now in P5 and the fees are slightly higher at $751 for a 2 hr class.

Can I please ask $751 is for how many lessons ? Is there any additional fees like deposit / registration or material ?Hi Kay22, My girl is in P5 this year, I signed her up when she started P4. My girl is P5 this year. Last year, she scored 94 for her Maths. But this year, it dropped to 74. I am very worried and have been looking around for a tution centre for her. I came across NeuroMath and Iβm quite impressed with the various strategies they used to solve challenging Maths problems.
Any of you heard of this tuition centre? Is it good?
Thanks. -
Hi
P5 Math is a big jump from P4, that could be the reason why your childβs result has dropped.
My son is attending classes at Norman Tien, itβs good for him. And I think kids enjoyed learning the different strategies there.
Just take note that no matter how good the centre is, sometimes not all teaching methods suit every child. No harm trying out to find out.
