Hi there, newbie here. I've just joined as I realised there's a lot of discussion about enrichment programs. I'm looking for maths enrichment (as opposed to tuition), and i'm quite excited about the info on eNopi and MPM....i'm slightly inclined towards MPM, but I've a bad relationship with an extremely structured program. My question is - is MPM one of those hothousing programmes?
Background - I put my daughter through Kumon last year (while she was in P1), but i realised the daily 10-page thingie for homework really stresses her out (and me too, if she can't complete them). After experimenting with a private home tutor early this year, i realised I'm probably best to help her with her Maths, and so I've decided to tutor her myself. My daughter takes while to master certain concepts, and time is what I have (being a part-time SAHM). With normal tuition centres, i understand it's more of giving work, and checking answers.....so that's also not what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for a program to excite my daughter about maths....and since holidays are starting, i thought why not a holiday enrichment program.
I need recommendations from parents who have seen their kids come back from maths enrichment with a spark in their eyes.
Thanks. Any other feedback is also appreciated.

I'm a newbie here as well & am on this thread for the exact same reason as you. My daughter has been to Learning Lab & the worksheets are just too much for her to cope together with the school work she has to take on. She is somewhat jaded & I think the holidays is a good time to get the \"spark\" back & get them all re-charged.
Any parents with recommendations will be much appreciated.

Hi
I am having a hard time trying to decide which centre is suitable for my kids (k1 and P1). I have read the numerous thread on enrichment classes for maths and want to explore the following:
1. Maths Hub
I am concern if the IQ maths would be too difficult for them and end up having reverse effect. Is it more for olympiad training and might not be helpful for their academic?
2. MPM
It is so popular among the forum I assume it should be good. Any comment as compare to Maths Hub? -
I have looked at a few enrichment programs like Kumon, Enopi and MPM and I find them too boring and mundane for my girl and it is repeated routine i.e worksheets after worksheets. Does not encourage creativity and innovation at all.
Honestly, I don't like it coz I don't want my girl to become a robot, keep doing repeated sums. Sometimes, I just wonder how my girl is going to survive in the global economy in future if all she does is repeating routine.
I came across this advert in ST 701 today...see

From the advert, sounds interesting...I like the part about Love Math and Fun Math. Anyone has any experience on this program? -
I think there was a thread about Math Monkey somewhere but not sure where it is now.
