Hi Chief,
To answer yr questions. Correct me if i’m wrong. i don’t think TN and KH values are that different since they come from the same huay kuan, other than academical standards, TNS may be higher.
My concerns are the teachers (if they are helpful and patient). I’ve heard from my friend that teachers in TNS only takes care of GEP students and if you’re not a scorer, basically you’re being left alone.
Another question is how are the student care in TNS and KH? Are the children well taken care of - food, discipline, school works revision? -
checkered:
I personally feel TN is in a different class compared with KH due to its GEP programme. I have heard from plenty of parents regarding the level of stress in TN, and even if you discount the drama, there has got to be some amount of truth in their stories. KH appears to be less stressful, with good qualified teachers. My son's KH P1-P2 teacher belong to the \"favor the strong\" category of teachers, but his current P3-P4 teacher is extremely caring and my son has become a lot more independent and confident due to that. So it still boils down to luck and chemistryHi Chief,

Hi all
I called up Tao Nan to confirm that my twins will have 2 balloting chances and was surprised to learn that the school will treat the 2 registration as one only, ie they only get 1 balloting chance!!
What’s confusing is that when I called earlier in April this year, I ws told by a different lady in the General Office that it’s 2 chances, ie both my twins’ names will be in the ballot box.
I’m wondering if the guidelines have recently changed or was I ill-informed earlier. And why are the twins not treated as 2 individuals although I do recognise that once the name is picked, both are considered in.
Thought I’d share this with parents of multiples so you won’t be in for a rude shock during registration time! -
Hi Chief,
Actually i’m alittle confused. A friend of mine whose son is currently in P2 in TN, he said that his son enjoyed going to school. Also, he dun think the school pressurize them academically except that every wk they have chinese spelling. in fact, in the class, students are group in colours as a team so that they can do their work and projects together and compete with other teams. this way, the strong will help the weak. his son don’t find it stressful but fun as sometimes they win and sometimes they don’t. but they don’t get penalize.
i thought this is quite a fun way to learn. or perhaps some students find it stressful. His son also don’t hv much homework. That is why i would like to hear views from parents whose children are from TN.
Whereas KH, my best friend son is also in there. And according to her, she don’t think anything much of the school. In fact, the current form teacher don’t give any updates/feedbacks at all to her. No communication at all. Or perhaps you’re right, lucky also plays a part in getting good teachers. -
Twins:
I'm confused. Wouldn't it be better to be treated as 1 and be assured that both of them are enrolled in the same school? it would be a logistic nightmare to have both of them in different school.Hi all

Twins or even triplets are considered as one entry only. If it comes to balloting, either all get in or don't. But I think some schools are rather confused about this. Last year in HPPS, the school initially informed parents under 2C that there are 55 students vying for 53 places hence they need to ballot. But later (before balloting start), they found that 2 of the students are actually twins/triplets, hence they count as one entry only and finally no balloting was conducted.

is it too late to rent a place within 1km now ? for this year registration ?
you have to stay in the rented place for a year (i tink) or longer.Luanee:
I stay outside 2km of Tao Nan and am considering whether to sign up for the SHHK member. But heard that it is not guarranteed and is thinking whether I should spend $524 joining SHHK. My husband is old boy of St Stephens but of course, comparing the 2 schools, Tao Nan is my preferred choice since I have a boy and girl. Any advice?
Quite risky for u as Tao Nan conducted balloting under phase 2B for those staying 1-2km only last year. So if you are out of 2km, u may not even get a chance to ballot.
My advice is join SHHK PLUS move within 1km if u really wants Tao Nan.
