I started to pick up driving again a year ago too. Very stressed just like you whenever need to park the car.

        This is what I did:

        1. Park the car where there are more car park lots.
        2. Practise driving in the MSCP in the afternn. From storey 1 to top and from top to bottom.
        3. Drive short distance and familiar with the route and driving.
        4. Avoid crowded place if possible.
        5. Practise and practise.

I know its easy to say than done. I have asked my colleagues before how to park the car too.. haha.. they all told me its very simple

Now I still dont dare to drive the car to town area

lol… i also stop driving for abt 8yrs. Recently start driving again becos need to send kids for enrichment class. For me, i just dun bother other driver. Practise and it make perfect. Get 2 small mirrors (circle) place them at the side mirror. I think is easier that way.

            Little M:
I can't park parallel, so I would avoid them all together.
            pecalis:
Reverse parking no problem but realised I couldn't do parallel parking already

            Me too!

you all should buy the high end top of the range BMW, Merc, and Lexus that can self park for you, reverse or parallel, no problem. just need to step on the brake

The good thing about being lady drivers is other male drivers had such low expectation of us.

Even if you take your own sweet time to reverse park until nice nice straight straight, no gentlemen would horn at lady drivers, afterall that is expected from 'dumb' lady drivers mah. They usually just resigned to fate & wait loh :rotflmao:

then you accuse the male drivers for staring

Do you mean you would stare?

No la, no la, they usually won't stare. At most, they looked very bored waiting. The impatient ones would offer to help me park

But that was last time la.
I'm an experienced driver now, although still can't parallel park 😉

                      haha...

this remind me when i started to drive again 3 years ago. I can still remembered I was so scared of parking til I could not sleep the whole night! Hubby forced and threatened me to drive and drive 😉 I dare to drive but the whole parking thing was so scary for me!

like what some advice out here, avoid crowded places, park at lesser crowd area even though you have to walk a bit more, and when really cannot, dun be afraid to ask people to park for you (I did that! 😉

after sometimes, you will definitely get the hang of it, like me, though I will still avoid those super challenging carparks 😉

good luck in your driving and parking! you can do it!
