The book for lower block was in the book list then. Saw it in the school bookshop last Thur. Bought the Upper Block as I wanted to go through and get son to practice some questions.

Hi Janet, it's not in the P3 Booklist this year. Unlikely that I'll be getting anymore Sci assessment books cos I think whatever she has now should suffice.

If the teacher didn't request for students to get, then don't do so. I find it rather easy and more like weekly revision.

Other subjects are not so hopeful either, I am expected at least 20-30 points lower than P4 SA2. Remembered I overheard a ex-P5 mother lamented in MathsHub last yr that her son, who used to score 80+ in P4 Maths, scored 50+ in P5! Now I know ...


Too bad there is no ranking (at least class-wise) in P5 CA1, coz at least we know our kids' results relative to others in the class, ie if everyone's results deteriorate, then you don't feel so demoralize if your ranking in class remain the same.

Dun worry too much. I had been through P5 CA1 phase. The sch's papers were not easy. Come PSLE, the child will do ok. Continue to work hard and not be discouraged.

The sch will issue a result slip that indicated the cohort n class highest and avg. With this, parents can roughly guage the child's standing among the cohort. For those subj scoring below cohort avg, more attention wld be needed.

And yes, exam smart is insufficient to do well in languages. MUST read, be it EL or CL. My elder boy is bearing the consequences now for his weak CL command due to insufficient reading.

The Little Gal was Crying at the Bedside of Can't-Remember-Who is About to Expire ....
Can't Stand Her Crying So Long, So Switched Channel ....

Then A Few Weeks Later, Happen to Switch to Same Channel, and the Gal is Still Crying at the Bedside .... After >10 episodes, and the Can't Remember Who .... Still Have Not Expired Yet!
