I saw this new edition of 'English Weekly' by Naaz Thaker but with schools using Stellar program, don't think it will be appropriate esp for P1-2. The 'weekly' series seems to work better for kids who are independent to sit on their own.

Just went through son's P1 books...whew, luckily still around. So I went through the pages to write down where I can find the grammar/vocab in the textbook. Think my gal will enjoy looking at the pictures and doing the workbook later. -

Yes, I saw this too but am targeting at gal's weakest point - Compre & Cloze Passage so din get this book...She came Home today with this statement,\"Oh, my EL CA1 paper v tough - esp the Compre & Cloze Passage; I don't know how to do!\"I saw this new edition of 'English Weekly' by Naaz Thaker but with schools using Stellar program, don't think it will be appropriate esp for P1-2. Hi lizuan76
as you mentioned guide book on grammar, you can have a look at
1)Basic/ Essential Grammar by Anne Seaton. Learners publication.
2)Step up grammar by Rosalind Fergusson. Learners publication. this book comes in different levels. If you think level 1 is too easy for her you can go for level 2.
3) My Pals are Here Grammar guide for P1/2, work book comes seperately for p1 and p2.
To practice grammar you can consider Conquer Grammar by teachers @ work
Thank you -
Hi plum-cake,
I printed out the grammar items to be taught in Term 1. Her school teacher is going at a reasonable pace. With 2 weeks more before end of term 1, there is still connector and tenses not taught. -

Hi Janet,Hi plum-cake,

From where?
Last year I received a chart from the school. It has all the book titles (Stellar system), under each title they have quoted the grammer parts to be taught, outdoor/indoor activity, spelling list and date. but this time I only got list of spelling and dates to be tested. Tenses alone took about 2-3 weeks. I can't remember exactly...other than work sheets they did more exercises in the note book.
This time my dd have show and tell and simple oral test as English Ca1. According to her work sheets I found they have brushed up some p1 grammar and studied alittle deeper in each titles.
Couldn't resist I went to popular last week and saw this cloze book and and bought it. I saw your post and  went to bras b comp. for science books and bought some from the 2nd hand book shop. I got the book The essential parent's guide to primary Maths by Dr Fong Ho Kheong(my Pals).
It was there in one of the book shop for $4 so got it mah..
every time I buy books I just think of you, you are a good person to share. :celebrate: -

...I have the urge to rush back and post when I see new books (and useful) in Popular.
Which cloze book did you get ?
Saw those items which will be taught in daughter's school website.
But it doesn't show what will be tested for the rest of the year, only Term 1. Tenses alone will take some time to teach bcos true understanding will take a while to absorb...esp for continuous tenses. Daughter will have Show & Tell too, but in Term 2 or 3. This school is rather ON.
