No idea, but I think it should be today (my guess only). Zhang Lao Shi was in a meeting yesterday. The kids were supposed to have their orals, too. This will now take place today.

How could Zhang Lao Shi go for a meeting when he was supposed to have classes? :x

The class was split into two during Chinese lesson. My boy got his Chinese unit review back, even though Zhang Lao Shi didn't teach him yesterday. :scratchhead:

Yes, I heard that from my son too and was puzzled. I thought he was having his ting xie yesterday and rushed to complete all the words. Had I know, I wouldn't have pressured him. The thing is my son is on 2 days MC, I wonder what will happens to his oral then. :roll:

We will just have to find out from them after school later.

My daughter told me yesterday that they had their oral too…


She also said that most of the kids in her class has full marks for oral. I’m taking it with a pinch of salt coz she’s like always so blur and whatever she said, is a little 牛头不对马嘴.

My DD has her MT unit review back last week. Supposed to have oral test yesterday but Zhang Lao Shi wasn't in. According to my DD, he was in a English course....dont' know how true is this? :?

I suppose it's a trade-off between more frequent assessment and marks skewed to the final year exam. All these assessments are required to keep the students constantly on their toes.


In addition, it is now no longer 100% written assessments that make up the marks. Orals, Show & Tell and Ting Xie, for instance, now form part and parcel of the total marks for Chinese.

Wah! It would be really good if most of her classmates had full marks.

I spoke to my son's teacher last week, and he commented that it would be very difficult to get full marks for oral.

Yes, although not a high percentage. Zhang Lao Shi said that ALL ting xie will be taken into consideration, not just a few.

Zhang Lao Shi was in a course for the past two weeks. He was in a meeting yesterday.

DS told me to practise with him picture 1 and 2 and also the oral passages for 1 and 2.

He was tested on Picture 1 - children in the computer laboratory...
