Applicant B submitted average result : Letter from School ..... \" we regret to inform you there is no vacancy at this point in time. Thank you for your interest.....\" -
the school will certainly take in bright students tat will help to raise the psle t-score… Tat’s common sense…
-
some schools take in based on first come first served basis to fill up vacancies, some school even has no vacancies could create vacancies if they see a bright student

if E and F are top two mainstream classes, then what are classes P, Q and R ?

if you say her 80 marks is not the same as my 80 marks … then i think fairest way … is to invite / request all those transfer case students to come and sit for common tests / exam set by rgps school standard, to gauge the standard of these requesting for transfer incoming candidates.
after marking, then let the school decide to … accept or reject these transfer cases. -
for outsiders transfering into rgps because they’re offered by MOE to pursue GEP programme, that is understandable.
but for non GEP students… since rgps is NOT affliated to RGS secondary, why would non GEP students request for transfer eagerly to come into rgps ?
isn’t it better for non GEP students to request for transfer to say, SCGS or MGS instead - since these two primary schools got affliated Secondary schools, but not for rgps. In fact, rgps students got to look for their own Secondary school. -
people transferring to RGPS could be for reason wanting to be an alumni, the next generation would have priority at Phase 2A
or could be hoping to do very well at PSLE to get into an IP school like RGS Sec, through train all the way to JC2…which SCGS / MGS does not provide for the time being (the newly proposed IP school between st nick/scgs/cat high is yet to take any shape of form)
presently those going to MGS and SCGS must still do O level and choosing a top tier JC is still a big headache -

Probably because they can't get into SCGS and MGS. Vacancies are limited there. Parents are pragmatic, if they want to transfer at P4, they'll seek out schools with affiliated secondary schools. Although not all of them have the intention of going to SCGS/MGS secondary after that. It's just a safety net, to secure a good affiliated secondary school. Some of these students will choose to go RGS/NYGH etc if they do well at PSLE. And there are instances of RGPS girls transferring out to SCGS/MGS at P4.for outsiders transfering into rgps because they're offered by MOE to pursue GEP programme, that is understandable.

Hi Folks,
Pardon me for my blur...ness. is it very important to get into \"E\" & \"F\" class??? the teacher teach differently or more of guarante PSLE resul???
Thanks a million!!!KSP:
I think this is right for P3 to P4E/F. For P4E/F to P5E/F they have to be top 80 again but this time they have to compete with the new say 30 students (xfer to RGPS P4 mainstream from other schools to fill up those xfer to GEP). Maybe this is to give everyone a fair chance to be the top 80.
Wow thanks! I assume the top 80 means those left after the GEP selection test right? So if we assume GEP take away 30 students, as long as u are within top 120 of the cohort u will be in class E and F ?Luanee:
I found these info from RGPS website regarding E, F, P Q and R classes and may be good info for some of us.
There should be no more streaming for P5E/F to P6E/F. That means all students from P5E/F will go to P6E/F.
-

The most important is the learning environment. Good class with all studious students around, our kids there will defenitely work more hard.
That's saying, One who mixes with vermilion will turn red, one who touches pitch shall be defiled therewith. Keep good men company and you shall be of the number.
hehe, this is just my one cent opinion.
