My gal's bdae is at end of Nov, so to celebrate with her classmates, we usually celebrate advance like the last day of sch. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

End of Nov not sch holiday meh???!!! :? My DD1's b'day oso end Nov leh.

cantbearit2, last day of the sch academic year will be on 18 Nov. If your DD really wants to celebrate, you can celebrate earlier for her. Alternatively, you can have a party at home for a few of her closer classmates. Don't forget to invite all of us here, ya...keke. (No shame hor, )

        Hi All,

Does anyone know if the CCA for tomorrow is still on for P1 & P2?

        Thanks,
        wkong

        Hi wkong,
Sorry...not too sure. If no one knows here, might be a good idea to call the General office first thing tomorrow morning to confirm with the staff.

Thanks, it turn out the CCA is still on as my gal's Chinese test is on Thursday instead of today

          Hi lvkt,
Usually for birthdays, some parents will give out party bags, some parents will invite selected kids (usually better friends) to a birthday party out of sch. Some will do nothing. It's really a personal choice.... it's not compulsory to give party bags or bring a cake in.

However, some parents choose to give party bags to share the joy with DDs' classmates. The party bags will be distributed to the classmates and they will sing a birthday song to the birthday gal. No birthday cakes allowed in the classroom. If you want to bring a birthday cake, let your DD's FT know in advance so she can gather the kids at the canteen during recess.

Recently, for DD2's birthday, I didn't bring a birthday cake in. I just delivered 30 party bags (DD wanted 1 for her FT as well), packed with lots of goodies. πŸ˜‰

So you brought the 30 party bags and pass it to her FT? Coz it will be too heavy for your DD to carry herself right?

Definitely too heavy for DD2 to carry all the party bags to sch...keke. I asked DD1 to deliver them to her class for me. Last year, DD2's form teacher asked me to drop the party bags at the General Office and she sent 2 gals to collect them from the General Office.

If you intend to deliver the party bags to the class yourself, may be a good idea to inform the FT a few days before via email. Some teachers prefer not to have parents rock up and disrupt lessons.[/quote]Thanks for sharing. Come to think of it, my DD's birthday always falls on Sept school holiday. hahaha..no chance to celebrate

AFter that will cook dinner, bring the kids back, make them eat, shower, homework blah blah.

I have tender but my boss wants me to stay on for a few more months till he can find a good replacement. Just tot of going back to work as a freelancer after I resign. But if really got kids wants me to tutor them, then I can also consider. hahaha..flexible.

WooHoo...test over!!! Can rest and relax now! πŸ™‚

I have a joke to share. Yesterday morning..ard 6+am, we were all sleeping soundly and suddenly hear my DD1 scream. And guess what, she said DD2 bite her toes!!! but DD2 is sleeping! So how is that possible? After some thought, I concluded that my DD1 must have somehow places her toes at DD2's mouth and DD2 thought that I am giving her milk bottle, so she just bite it. hahahaah..coz every morning, I will just give her milk to make her wake up. πŸ™‚

oh hi fmastuki, i didn't know we have daddy joining in too, haha..i must tell DH too...

btw, is your DD at P1 Gratitude? same class with my DD? thanks for the b'day cake and goody bag to my DD, she finished it all and only left the packaging to show me, sigh..this big eater will finish everything u give her.

I'm thinking to order cup cakes, save some time to cut the cake and can sing b'day songs altogether then just grab and eat, ya?

anyway, thanks for sharing indeed... πŸ˜‰

                  fmastuki:

                  Hi lvkt

It was my girl's b'day on the 28th Feb. My wife wrote in to her FT and stated our intention. We were advised to bring the cake to the canteen during their recess time.

Both my wife & I took leave yesterday and we also brought in the goody bags with us so that my daughter didn't have to carry anything.

It was quite an experience for us on Monday. We had loads of her classmates & other children from other classes who gathered around the table and they all sang her the birthday song. Then came the chaos......heaps of children gathering round for the cake and the goody bags. :?:

We really didn't mind giving the cakes away to other children but we only had enough goody bags for her classmates and I couldn't tell, for the love of God, who are her classsmates....LOL.

All these had to be done in about 20 mins as the children had to have their proper meal and get ready to go back to class.

I later discussed with my wife that should we do it again for her next year, we'll send the goody bags directly to class just before their recess time and we'll pre cut and pre plate the cakes in the disposable plates before the kids come out for their break. We'll have a smaller cake with candles just for them to sing and for her to blow out the candles and thee children could go on with their cakes right after.

You might wanna consider this as an alternative in case you intend to do something similar.

                    cantbearit2,

beat me, i don't really know, got advanced stage? haha..her programme will be finished by this march which i gave one month notice and she will finish this programme by then we don't want to cont'd, too much spelling and reading and answering questions, even me got enough. 😒

                    cantbearit2:

                    cantbearit2,
yes, very true about ICR programme, i just withdrew my DD from ICR too, she joined ICR when she was 5 plus already but i could see the improvement as independent reader as well as spelling too. During the pre-school was still okey as no homework or less work to do but since we started primary school, every nite is like in a battle, especially we put our DDs to GSSC so no morning time is allowed to prepare for any test/spelling/HW that we'll have to finish it all at nite time, so i really want to rest over the weekend, we (DH and i) don't want to spend weekend to push her to do HW/spelling to prepare for her weekend enrichment classes, feel so pitiful for her or DH and i can't take it anymore too, haha.. πŸ˜‰

lvkt, which stage of ICR did yur DD stop? My DD1 is ending her advanced stage around May/Jun this yr. Aft tat, we will not continue wif their Pri sch prog.
