Am trying to understand why DLS is toppers in the voting and second only is South view. Academically i thot south view was first and then CCk primary. DLS doesn't seem to have very good results. Can anyone explain. The voting is based on what criteria?? :?

I don't think you should take the poll so seriously. Perhaps most of the voters were Catholic? Perhaps a single person voted more than once?

If I had to choose, DLS would be my first choice, purely because it is Catholic and affiliated to SJI. Southview, while having produced good results, would not make my list as I perceive the school to be very driven academically, which is not the environment I would like my DS to be in.

It's different strokes for different folks; best to look at all your choices, talk to parents whose kids are already there, attend the open houses... gather all the information you can and make your decision based on what you want, and know is best for your child.

The above poll is a popularity poll. It's just about what people prefers. There is no specific criteria. You should use the results as another indicator when evaluating your schools of choice.

We finally managed to buy a house . It's just opp to DLS. But is it true that they have preference for catholics???DLS is my first choice. How is YT Primary- 1.14km?Din't hear good things abt Unity or kranji Primary. Is it possible to get in CCK primary even though I am staying more than 2km? Southview also is abt 1.5km away which would be my second choice. When is the registration for next year P1? Stressed out already.... Appreciate any help. :?:

Since your child is registering next year, why not consider PV to augment your chances of getting into the school of your choice?

I thought someone in this forum mentioned that DLS doesn’t accpet PV now. is it true? And it’s so late already. The admission is in May or June if I’m right. Is there any chance in trying so late? U think I should check with the school first?
I would prefer to do PV like u mentioned and increase my chances of getting in though

Sorry you kid due to register this year to start P1 next year? I wrongly thought you meant to register in Yr 2012 and start P1 in Yr 2013.............

If it is for this year's registeration, am afraid PV route may indeed be late but if you do not mind, you could always check with the school. If you will be in P2C, then it is good to study past years' balloting history and to monitor the slots after P2B of your choice schools very closely during the registration period this June/July.

With CCK SMC now redrawn under CCK GRC, those not selected for PV at SV can consider gg the Community leaders way, cos now they have more choice of sch to pick in Phase 2B, including DLS, YT, Unity.


Previously, it was not really worth it to be Community Leader for CCK SMC as only 2 choices of sch available SVPS & TWPS. With SVPS gg for balloting in Ph2B, effort will be wasted cos TWPS always have vacancies even after Ph2c supp.

This will also make competition for Ph2b in the previously CCK SMC stiffer in future.

I was in a primary school and witnessed teachers shouting at students to hurry up etc.


Even the librarian was shouting and threw books back to students.

Thot such disrespectful behaviours shd be gone by now as we should be demonstrating respect and encouraging learning.

Can’t pp talk properly and realise the kids are mimicking them if the kids are also shouting?
