All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

I also dream about transferring my kid to a school nearer home for P2. I wrote to the school and they said I can try after his term 3 results are out. There is no entrance exam. Just try lah, if can’t get in, then remain lor… his current school is not bad too, just a bit far.

I am currently looking for a school for my son who are currently studying Primary 1 in Malaysia.
Most neighborhood schools I’d contacted said they do not have vacancy.
Can anyone please advise us?
Thanks in advance. -

I am surprised to hear of this.
Very sure that Blangah Rise Primary and Cantonment Primary have vacancies. -

Hi
Does anyone know if one can wait list for more than 1 school for P1? (for eg after the P1 registration, you did not get into the choice of your school) -

Anybody has any experience of successful transfer to Pri 1 school of your choice when you did not get it in the pri one registration exercies last year?
My best friend transferred her son at P2 from New Town to Radin Mas. She lives within 1km of RM and balloted there in P2C but lost out. Appealed immediately after but unfortunately, there were no vacancies. Her son was then posted to NT in P2CS where he spent a year. About a month before he was due to go to P2, RM called her and asked if she was still interested in a transfer and she grabbed the chance. Overjoyed, naturally!

hi parents, how to deal with ‘emotions’ of children who transfer in p2 or p3? I casually asked my ds whether I can transfer him to a nearer school next year, but was faced with violent objections, as friendships are formed already

Dear Parents,
I need to transfer my daughter from Qifa primary school to a school in bukit merah area because we will be moving to Cantonment close (after term 2, end of May). It is very very difficult to find a school with P2 vacancies. I contacted 6 schools there: Cantonment, ChiJ, Radin Mas, Zhangde, Gan eng seng, Blangahrise but none of them have any vacancies for P2 :((( What I can do? Kindly advice! I put her in long waiting lists.
My son will go to P1 next year and we will register him for Cantonment primary. If brother is going to this school, will sister be easier to get in from waiting list?
Many thanks!
