must interviewers can see through the lies
That's why must ask the EXPERT!!
Hmmmmmmmm ....Funx3:
not necessarily so
schools also know they apply for a few DSA and a decision will have to be made later, and nobody could be 100% certain to apply for a single DSA and be made an offer. life not so simple
I know the school that most often ask that kind of question is HCI
in fact that is one of the answers from the interview coach who was involved in dsa interview
MayBe Tell Them Only Apply for DSA in One Sch Only ....
So ALL CHIPS Lay Down in ONE SINGLE BET?
Like Herbie Says, \" Die Die Must Join the Sch?\"

Dear Mr. VeryKiasu2010,
How did your DS answer this question in the DSA interview last year?
We are eagerly waiting to hear the answer.....please don't say not asked this question!!!

Herbie:
DSA is like going for job interview... if you tell the company that you decide later... they will throw yr letter into the waste paper basket...
not necessarily true, after being through the DSA exercise in the same scenario of choice, plus having the chance of personal interaction with those teachers / principals / interviewers / interviewing coaches...
for GEP kids with consistent result, and high performing mainstream kids, receiving more than 1 DSA offers is norm. there is nothing wrong to tell the interviewers that decision will be made later, it is not a sign of being unsure of what you want. it is showing them being wise not to rush into a decision just because someone made the first offer. you have a choice and be mature about it. as a top/good student, you are in a position of strength.
it is just a trick question from the interviewer, nothing else. it is usually the last question for fun, they have already made up their mind. Such DSA interview is not so much giving the correct answer, it is how you present yourself, being articulate and genuine and honest than to give a superficial answer to please the listeners. Even for job interviews, bosses know how to sieve out the genuine answers from the boss-pleaser kind of answers.
as the parents and kids do find out more about the school even after receiving the various DSA offers, and also the DSA exercise form will only be distributed after they have sat for the PSLE, it perfectly okay to say that decision will be made later, up to the point of internet submission at end of October. -

We are not asking the kid to lie, the kid has to really love the school which they have applied for DSA… otherwise why go for DSA…
so as to secure more ‘safety net’? -
My view: Do not ask/teach the kid to lie. What values are we teaching the kid if we say it is okay to lie during an interview. Be honest. Interviewers do value honesty and integrity. And if you don’t like the school, why apply to begin with.

Herbie:
you apply for more than 1 DSA precisely because you are not sure that one and only one application will offer you. you can call it safety net or whatever. We are not asking the kid to lie, the kid has to really love the school which they have applied for DSA.. otherwise why go for DSA..

nothing wrong to consider a few schools as possible choices, and so a decision has to be made later. you have a first choice, and a second choice, etc .... nothing in life is so absolute, so DSA is also a good learning journey for the kids
rare (not impossible though) are the ones who would die to enter one school and no where else .... to \"really love\" the school is an overstatement, IMHO
many many very bright boys from NYPS eg would say without thinking their first choice is HCI, even without affiliation they feel a sense of kinship with the HCI boys, \"love\" the school for the same culture etc ........but many of them are now happily settled in RI -

what lie ? let the school know you are applying for a few DSA. nothing to hide. no need to fool to school with only one DSA application. who is lying?
applying to a few schools does not necessarily mean must like one and dislike the rest, right ? nothing is absolute
you will have cases where the one you so liked but not successful in getting an offer from them, so you have to like another one, unless quit studying
is that the reason why people remain single unmarried because the one he / she is chasing after is married to someone else ? -
