It can be viewed in a positive way...ie kids are taught to be resilient in the face of adversity from young...actually P1 classes should be named RESILIENT.
Please don't feel this way. PH offers more than just exams, ya?janet_lee88:
I feel very sorry for the children, bcos they have no childhood studying in Pei Hwa.

Chicken and egg issues again, I guess. I think, ultimately, we, as parents are the ones who can make the difference in our children's life. Its our principles that we have to stand firm on.

My gal thanked me the other day because I did not enforce that she must have tuition classes. Well, of course, it is both ways. I told her if she can prove to me that she is dependable, then I will let her be. I believe she was and still is. It is the depth that she needs some guidance, I believe.
It just went through my head...if setting tough CA1 papers is the scare tactic from the school to make the students gear up for SAs, then, if I continue to choose not to load her with any tuition, then I must be prepared that she may even be the ε ε°Ύη in her class even if her scores do not drop. I think I am ok with it. Shall discuss with her. -

Teachers will definitely be stressed, that's their KPI (Key Performance Indicators).
i think not only kids and parents stress.... teachers stress too....hahaha....php:

My gal told me, her EL tr walked into the class, pointing her own face and told the class, \"I have 'NOT HAPPY\" written on my face.\" A few in the class joked that they did not see the words. She told the class, whoever scored below 65 is considered 'Failed'.
A lot of them are very dedicated and find job satisfaction through the kids result. It is a great sense of achievement if their kids do well.[/quote]Ya agree. DD's teacher told the class she expected only 1 to get Band 2 for Maths, but in the end around 4 got Band 2... Oops, talking about KPI...  -

Scare Tactic Or Not ....

I Still Maintain the Same Gauge for My Gal ....
No Dropping in Class Position, No Dropping Below Avg Score for Class = No Meddling from Mummy ....
So Far, She Has Not Disappointed Me ....
So IJJ, U Must Have Faith in Your Gal Too ....
