I agree, actually it’s not about the nationality… they may have the advantage for CL, our kids have different advantages too… it’s how the child ‘trains’ and also the child’s capabilities… these PRC parents don have other ways of joining schools like PH unless they are super lucky at balloting or the kids have really good results… it’s expected that they can do well i think…


For me, I m trying to strive for balance, i think that’s more important that results. just striving to do better at work is not enough…There will always be someone out there that is better at achievements, but to be happy and content, well-brought up and conscientious person, that’s much more impt.

Is It a Further Injection of a NEW Batch of PRC Kids? For If They DO Not Have Good Showing of GOOD Results, They Will Not Gain Admittance to PH, Right?

I once encountered a PRC mom while waiting at the gate. I overheard her telling another parent that many PRC moms whom she knew managed to get their children transfered into PH. Of course, the information was never verified, but I do believe that many PRC parents are as KS as us native Singaporeans, maybe even more KS. Reminds me of the 'tiger mom' theory, maybe not to that extent, but could be close. I personally know a few who put alot of emphasis on their children's school works. Even when they are not able to coach themselves, they sent their children to top notch tuition centres and kept very close watch on their children's study schedule. With such determination from parents to groom their children, it is quite hard not to produce academic results. Just that, for me, I think there are many important things besides just exams and scores.

Yeah, Remember My Gal Told Me of A PRC Boy in Her Class (Faith in those Days) who Performs Quite Badly when He first Joined the Class ....
But Top her Class Ultimately in SA2!

And He's Not Only Good in His Native CL/HCL, Apparently He TOP the EL Papers as Well (Even the Best in Charity Cannot Beat Him)! :roll: :roll:

He's Since upgraded to Charity (Equivalent) Class ....
Heard From My Gal, his Family Rented a Place in Toh Yi Garden, in the Block Right Next to Pei Hwa Back-Gate ....
And Of Course, His Mum is With Him ALL the WAY ....

Well, A GOOD Example for ALL KS Parents Out there ....
Initial SetBack Does Not = No Good Result Later, Right?
ALL our Kid DO STILL Have Hope to Become Better ....

Perhaps that's Why I've Become More L-F in other KS Parents Eyes ....

There R More to One's Life than Purely Study ....
That's Why I Encouraged My Gal and Boys to Diversify to Other Non-Academic Pursuits ....
Even Gaming is Acceptable to ME, As Long As it Does Not Affect their Studies ....

Like U Say - Just Want them to BE Happy and Contented, Well Brought up and Conscientious ....
