There are FAR too many titles in Popular now...so much so that we have headaches thinking what to get and whether they are helpful.HI Plum and Janet I must say I am very impressed with the 2 of you having spent so much tme to give us good advise on assesment books.
Any other good assessment books for comprehension for P1 and how about math and chinese? any good recommendation. I always seem quite lost whenever i go to popular not sure which books to buy...
If you're considering getting Maths, there is this new title called 'Visible Thinking in Maths'. Newly published and there is a discount for Popular cardmembers until end March. -

If you're going to the bookshop in Ghim Moh, get that one for lower primary. Honestly it's really good as it covers both P1-2.

Allow me to answer. Basic English Grammar is avail in Popular. It's actually placed near the Énglish section of assessment books (face up) instead of on the shelves. Thanks Plum so can i check with you if popular sells these grammer guide books:
Basic english grammar/ mypals are here grammar guide. which section can i find these books? are they place together with the assessment books?
Janet thanks for the alternative advise on the grammer book. will check it out soon and do a comparison.
any good chinese books for P1??to share...
For Chinese assessment book, you can consider either Victoria (每课一练)Publications or EPH(this author 蔡云飞) ...1st half of 1A book is on hanyu pinyin. -

Thanks. -
Callie Tan:
\"what\" is for \"asking for information specifying something\"Please help :
________ colour do you prefer? Blue or green?
Answer is Which. But can I use What for the answer?
Thanks.
what is your name?
what time is it?
\"which\" used for \"asking for information specifying one or more people or things from a definite set\"
si in your case you have a definite set of blue and green. so I think, \"which\" is more appropriate answer. -

Agree with plum-cake that 'Which' is the answer. Plum-cake has explained it very nicely.
Has your DD settled in her new sch?? Hope she's enjoying sch.
