Maybe there will be another session for SAHM with older kids. I want to go too but I have to prep my kids for kindy in the pm. I will check with them if there are other ways for us to give inputs. Maybe it's because election is near, they seem interested to hear from us.SAHM_TAN:

I hate to be cynical, but I doubt that they would be willing to hear us if it's not an election year. I suppose attending would be good, but I also think that there will be the press there to report the session as an example of how these working mums are so working hard for the SAHMs.
Truthfully, how is it possible for kids below 6 to be left alone at the play area while their mums attend the dialogue? Those between 5 to 6 can be left to play safely, but those 4 and below will find it hard to be left with strangers!
Could there be a better way of meeting or hearing the needs of SAHMs? 10am really is a tough time for SAHMs, who need to get the day ready for their kids, and get things settled in the household. For most SAHM with below 6s, their older kids are probably in the PM session (P1 or P2), so at 10am they would be preparing their kids for school.
Just because SAHM operate out from home doesn't mean that weekdays are easy for them to meet a Minister. If it's really a thought for SAHM, the dialogue ought to be held on the weekends, so that daddies or other caretakers can be roped in to watch their kids, so that the true needs of the SAHM can be articulated and met.
Ah well, at least there's a thought for the SAHM, even if current policies are directed against educated women staying at home, and even if it's just a forum just because the SAHM has a vote to poll.

Afternoon I need to fetch dd1, settle her down for homework. Busy whole day. Do teleconference la, no need to travel :idea:sleepy:

I was reading your post and thinking it would really be good to attend and voice our views, but then it is so tough to travel all the way there (for me in the west) and yes, I got older kids in Pr sch too, even though in the morning, but I can't rush there and back in time...
