Hi Mummies,

I bought this compo guide book from Popular IMM last night.
‘Towards Better Composition Writing’ by EPH. Selling at $2.90 for levels from P1-6.

\"what\" is for \"asking for information specifying something\"

what is your name?
what time is it?

\"which\" used for \"asking for information specifying one or more people or things from a definite set\"


si in your case you have a definite set of blue and green. so I think, \"which\" is more appropriate answer.

Yes I agree with plum-cake and appreciate her explanation.

Thanks for the concern but my girl is still not fully adjusted to this 'schooling' thingy. Her serparation anxiety is quite serious... so she is still crying and asking not to go school until today. Sigh.... But when I ask her \"how's school today?\", she will tell me \"good\" or at least \"ok\"... so I really can't tell whether she is enjoying school or not.

Hi Callie,

When I ask my daughter if she likes school, she tells me the same thing all the time, ‘ok’. That answer is rather general…it doesn’t quite tell me if she is learning well. Fortunately there are worksheets.

English & Maths, she is quite ok. But her Chinese is weak, esp hanyu pinyin. So I’ve got to spend more time on her subjects when my older one doesn’t have CA or SA. Compo, comprehension, cloze, grammar, vocab on diff days of the week.

I \"kept my legs at home\" so as not to step into Popular JP but hubby brought both DDs there and ends up DD1 bought the following Compo guide book and Compre Assessment Book .....Thought should post up here to share with all of you here ....Ooops, hope I am not \"intruding\" into the wrong thread but I believe they are available from P1 to P6

I asked daughter to bring home all her EL worksheets to revise during March hols…in one of them, there is a vocab worksheet on Animal sounds and their motions as in bear growls and lumbers.

So this March is busy, busy.

English is always difficult to teach - as in there is no textbook to follow and we have to rely on wat their worksheets and supplemtary txt book and work book :scratchhead:

Very very stupid not having textbook...there are impt stuff like Grammar which needs teaching. I'm still reinforcing pronouns and action words (verbs).

I have this book called The New First Aid in english by Angus Maciver. to teach, which contains Animals and sound, motion, comn.adjectives.
