I am new here to this forum. My kid is current in P2. Would like to know for those parents of P2 are they awared that for MT review there are 3 problem sums gaven. Quite shock to see that cos in the weekly handout it mention to have review for chapter 1& 2.

Hi there,

do you mean Maths paper or MT (mother tongue)?? If Maths paper, yes, there are problem sums. My dd got her marks but the papers are not returned to them so i have yet to see the paper.

Just to enquire anyone DS or DD use to have Wong Seng Fatt (MT) teach in P1? How is this teacher by the way?

Mr Wong was my dd's P1 teacher last year. He was OK but will lose his cool when handling 'more demanding' kids.

This year, I heard that he's also teaching some of the P2 classes to some foreign students who chose Chinese as their MT and do not have strong foundation. This level he's teaching is slightly lower to cater to the needs of these students.

So far had got back the Maths & Chinese paper except for English. Yes Maths there are problems sum in which they are using model!

My kid is in A class and i refer to math paper. I thought the problem sum is in chapter 3 and did not expect it to be tested. In fact, it was not written in the weekly handout sheet.


Any problem faced by your kids in doing the problem sum?

DS was ok on the problem sum except he maybe had some mistake in this type of question.

Titank, if your son doesn't have any issue with the MT teacher, why did you raise the question suddenly? :scratchhead: We thought you had issues with the MT teacher, and hence the question.

To me, I don't bother about the chapter numbers that will be tested when it comes to Math. I expect my kids to be familiar with ALL the topics that they have been taught so far, regardless whether they will be tested or not.

May I know what problem sum is that??? Does your kid or teacher prealert that problem sum is part of the pre unit review too. COs in the handout it wrote chapter 1 &2 for review and as per text book , problem sum was in chapter 3.
