cooking and oily smell
-
Hi mummies
Do u head straight to bath and wash hair right after cooking, even for stir fried veg?
For me, I do as I feel so stint right after cooking, even just fried egg or so.Thus, I only cook when am prepared to wash hair.Anyone has similar habit ?
thanks -
Yes, on the infrequent occasions (overdue for one now) that I cook, I always bathe after cooking. One reason is that I like to eat when I feel fresh and clean.

Same here, the first thing i do after cooking is take shower then enjoy the food after that.
Especially cooking asian/chinese food which require bigger flame and sent all the oil, sauces, ingredients flying about. :nunchuk:
There's also a scientific explanation that one will be quite 'full' with own cooking's smell, so after a refreshing shower can reset our senses.
Frankly, at times that I have to eat after cooking (can;'t have the whole family waiting for me right?) I can't really taste the food and felt them unappetizing. -
yea, I know wat u mean.
Sometimes even yummy food will turn cold by the time I ‘refresh’ myself.
So sad… -
How I wish I do not have the food smell after cooking…
Cannot control but still stick to the old habit , dashed right to shower and wash hair right after cooking at the fastest speed that I could. That is why I dont enjoy this part that is after cooking. -
Can reduce by:
1)Install AC in kitchen or use fan blowing directly at u while cooking. (most kitchens are enclosed type which make the small area hot and stuffy with just little heat)
2)Use Steam and boiling methods instead of frying...
3)Non-stick pan : use small amount of oil or use no oil at all.
4)Cover with lid over pan/work while deep fried stuffs like fish, useful even when frying egg to reduce the oil flying about (learn from my sis)

But even if dun fry oso the food smell might stick to you. Eg, if you have to handle raw seafood, cut onions and garlic, all these smell will cling onto you.
