Sorry to hear about your plight in getting a place in a Primary School for your daughter. Have a few suggestions. These schools normally have vacancies after their annual Primary 1 registration. Again, no guarantee, but worth a try as a last resort. Will add on if I can think of more along the way.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I will try them out. We live in the East Coast area, off Meyer Rd. near Tanjong Katong.


I have been in touch with the MOE multiple times and they have finally emailed me for documents they need for a formal application. They have said there are no vacancies in any primary school, but it seems like I get a slightly different explanation each time I call. I plan on paying them a visit tomorrow morning.

Maybe you can try to talk to your constituency Member of Parliament (MP), and ask for a letter or even email from the MP.

You are a foreigner? Not sure if they will help.

Yes, I am a foreigner, on a EP (well, I have a dependent pass). Anyway, my options are narrower for that reason I suppose.
