Actually, can this maid still continue with employer, I think the employer would know the answer deep in the heart. Sometimes we already made the decision but just want assurance and confirmation on our decision.

So I really think if you cannot stand this maid anymore, its best to let go. Who know? Your next maid might be a gem. It is also very hard these days to find a maid who would work long with you because they have their own family commitments and way of thinking. Just treat it like extra help for you and if they don’t stay, get someone else.

True! May be peapot was right. may be I change another one may be better than this one but may be worst as well, only like gamble 33.33% chance get better one. Not easy… Of cos I know maid also had their own way of thinking and commitment but they also should bear in mind that, once they be maid, their main job must able to finish everyday. One day cannot complete can drag for 2nd day but cannot keep on drag and drag till can’t complete at all…Just imagine, when we work outside world, do you think our boss will give us so much chances?? Sometimes I really felt that if I let her transfer, do I just throw another bomb to another employer? Am I too selfish, as I know how difficult and high cost to bring in a maid and yet not helping but creating problems… But if I don’t let her transfer and sent her back, also like very bad as she never earn money at all… But why can’t they just work hard and complete their contract…Haiz…

So do ppl in Taiwan and HK pay levy to their goverment for employing maids?

yes. i am from hk and i have a maid a few years ago. we paid levy to govt every 6 months. very expensive, but no choice. 😢 and filippio and indo's salary are just the same, with one off day every week, + statutory holidays. very enjoyable in hk. 😐

I have a maid for a first time.

What is the usual housechore schedule for your maid? Wash clothes sweep, mop, water plants in the morning? Does your maid cook for your family?
i have a daily routine for my maid, so she needs to follow the time table and complete the tasks. besides, i have a weekly routine and monthly routine for her as well, covering those cleaning jobs that you don't need her to do everyday, like cleaning the aircon dust filter, etc. so based on these 3 routine lists, my maid cares for the house pretty well. of course you need to give her guidelines and brief her what you expect, like how to dilute disinfectants, that kind of things. and monitor her work consistently and give feedback from time to time when your maid is still new with you.
my maid cooks for us as well. of course. i rather offer my time guiding and playing with my boy and girl than go cooking. at first she cooks so so, then i gave her cookbooks from bookstore. she improves her skill gradually.
so my advice is to make a timetable and brief to her in the first few days after she comes, and keep an eye on how she works. let her know it is flexable that you can change/add/delete what you want her to do.
no worry, we can learn to be a good employer too. 😎

                    Hi hi

I am having a Mynmar maid, she is 23years old, is a transfer maid. Initially when she arrived, we thought that she was good and really come here to work.
Till there is one time I suspect her going out in the morning without our permission. As both my hb and myself are working, there is no one to look over her and my boy is in P1 morning session. So she had all the morning to herself. After that I install Camera at home and to my surprise, the whole morning from 7 am to 1.30pm (my boy reached home at about 1.45pm) she was on the phone for 1-2 hrs and we also knew she has a boyfriend. As she loves to make phone call in my study room and not realising even though she hid one corner, her conversation is recorded. And the way she does the housework is just touch and go, not clean. But when we are at home, her attitude changed. So such a maid cannot be kept as you won’'t know what she is capable of doing when she stays on longer.
So I went to see another agent, who had indonesian maids (transfer) on hand, they are all of the same kind. They work for the $$ for themselves not for families. There are of no difference to those PHP. Sorry I really blacklist PHP as few experience with them, all the same mindset, here to enjoy life and not working.
Our conclusion is to send the maid back and no more maid for us. Now I am looking at the student care to place my child.

Hi, I just employed a burmese maid for 2 wks already. and she’s horrifying!!! she eats like no one’s business!!! lunch and dinner, 1 cup of rice is not enough for her, she needs to eat bread for supper too and it’s not like we work her like mad!!! she doesn’t need to take care of kids cuz we dun allow her to, just doing the housework and cooking but yet she’s always hungry!! also, she’s starting to check the brand of products we use such as he bread we give her and her first day here, she asked for facial wash!!! and she uses the loreal brand!!! furthermore, last night she walked out of the bathroom in her sarong wrapped like a bathrobe!!! is this enough to send her back I wonder??
