I homeschool my oldest, and even for me, I hate the school holidays for their disruption to our timetable. DSโ€™s fencing school would suddenly have a great many programmes and tournaments or his BB group would have outings and all these things eat into our timetable.

Besides this, my younger kids would be underfoot all day because their preschool is closed and they will get into all sorts of mischief.

School days are more ordered and we are in a better rhythm than school holidays.

My eldest is in P6 this year. I homeschooled him from P2, term 3 onwards.

I've 2 younger kids, a 5yo and a 3yo, but they both attend a preschool in the morning.

We're of the mind that we will try to give our kids the option of whatever 'schooling' is the best fit for their temperment and learning style. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wow, homeschool. I really salute you.
Both my kids didn't attend pre-nursery but they went to Nursery and honestly I enjoyed the 3 hours of peace.

What curriculum do you use for him? I have a couple of hmsch friends, so just curious. ๐Ÿ™‚

Do you join the Spore homesch group too?

After P6, do you still plan to hmsch for him?

I know of a mom who still hmsch aft P6 but most send their hmsch pr kids on to public sec schs.

Not easy not easy, really salute!

                mummy always:

sleepy - you look like you got a good life leh... ๐Ÿ™‚ wah, your children so good, no need pushing? i have to tell my son 10 times, before he would move from doing his work on the floor to the table...

I must nag abit la. Where got so automatic one

Now school holiday so my 'good life' is on hold this week. Kids making lots of noise at home. One minute they're best friends, the next minute became arch enemies. Then they involve me in their fight & expect me to be a judge. 5 minutes later they patch up. And the cycle repeats. Come on, give me a break, I hate school holiday!

                Ya, it's super noisy now.

I also wanted to pack them off to half day camps, but could not find anything I like. So DD1 only went to a 3 hr thing on Monday. When the 2 older ones are at home the whole day, bb will not sleep. The older ones are too noisy for her to sleep and I'm to busy to keep track of them to accompany bb to nap.

Yes, I'm on the homesch mailing list. I'm using mainly MOE's curriculum, to prepare my son for the PSLE. Prior to this year, we also did some Geog work, WW2 history, and Latin, because these were his interest.

We'll probably decide whether to continue homeschooling after his PSLE. Again, our decision will very much depend on his interests and where he hopes to go eventually. ๐Ÿ˜„

What prompted you to homeschool your boy?

I don't have to stamina. Will raise white flag very soon
