2009 P1 Registration Exercise for 2010 In-Take
-
Also registering my girl tis year - ph 2C.
We've short-listed our schools and our intention is to register on the 3rd day - 31/7.
I presumed, by the that day, the school will be able to 'tell' us how is our chance of securing a seat... or must go thru balloting.
Good luck to all parents...

My P1 gal supposed to submit the form to the teacher for her K2 sister.
But there is no form of acknowledgement from the school after she submitted.
As she is only P1 and still very blur, I am not so confident if she has done the job.
So I called the school office in the morning today to check and they told me to check with my gal! :stupid:Luanee:
Yah phase1 forms just need to be submitted via the elder sibling to the school. I have a fren eligible for phase1 in aitong just discovered that she hasnt submitted any form via her P3 son for her K2 dd! Luckily still got one day today...
Btw since 2003 birthrate is lower than 2002's, my guess is that ppl eyeing those schools which did not reduce their intake this year (eg HPPS, MGS, NYPS, RGPS, PHPS, ACS, NHPS, KHS, TNS, ATS, CHIJ) will all have a higher chance. -

I was told that we will receive a letter from MOE for P1 registration. Is it true ?
Did not receive any form. Can anyone confirm whether we should be receiving form from MOE? Thanks. -

I think this is one of those situations where you just have to bite the bulleta and do it yourself to be sure.My P1 gal supposed to submit the form to the teacher for her K2 sister.

Miracle Child:
It's not a form but a leaflet that tells you very briefly about P1 registration. If your child attends childcare or kindergarten, he/she will be given one by the teacher to bring home. The teachers get them from MOE.shizta:

It doesn't matter if you didn't get a leaflet since no form is attached. What you can find at the MOE website and KSP forum here is more than what the leaflet can tell you. As for the actual registration form, my DH and I downloaded it from MOE's website. If you don't mind filling it up on the spot at the school during registration, the school should have blank forms just in case.

Thanks 3Boys... we have already updated our KiasuParents.com balloting history accordingly.
When analyzing the data, keep your eye on the last column - the \"Average TUR Up to 2B\" indicator (ATUR).
For 2007:
Balloting in Phase 2B occurred when the ATUR was above 21%.
Balloting or cut-off in Phase 2C was guaranteed when the ATUR was above 55% for distances under 2km, and when it was above 58%, all except 2 schools had balloting for under 1km.
For 2008:
Balloting in Phase 2B occurred when the ATUR was above 26%.
Balloting or cut-off in Phase 2C was guaranteed when the ATUR was above 56% for distances under 2km, and when it was above 59%, all except 2 schools had balloting for under 1km.
How do you use this info?
- If the ATUR of the school you are eyeing is less than 20%, the chance of balloting in Phase 2B is low. If it is above 20%, there may or may not be balloting.
- If the ATUR of the school you are eyeing is 55% or more, do not try for the school in Phase 2C if you stay more than 2km away.
- If it is 58% or more, do not try for the school if you are not staying within 1km of the school.
- Note that even if the ATUR of the school is under 55%, balloting within 1km in Phase 2C CAN still occur. The statistics is only useful as a STOP-LOSS guide, so that you can start checking out your 2nd choice schools earlier than later, should your first choice school fall under the statistical improbability zones.
Based on the above, at this point, it is VERY likely that the following schools will require balloting in Phase 2C:
Unity Primary
Admiralty Primary
Rivervale Primary
Xinmin Primary
Those staying outside 2km of these schools should look somewhere else if you are trying for them in Phase 2C. -

Did you mean 2B or 2C?
