Just to share that the 3 for $1.99 Thai mango offer is still on at NTUC. Believe the offer is on till tomorrow. Was at NTUC @ NEX this morning and they had new stock, fresh, big and ripe ones.

You had better make it real fast! Doubt the good ones would last long especially considering that today is NTUC @ NEX's Official Opening!

Had a shock when I stepped into the outlet this morning, the Lion Dance Troupe was ready to pounce, quickly grabbed whatever I needed and made a fast exit. Was crowded with VIPs.

            Huh, today official opening

I wanted to go there to buy few things. Alamak, liddat I am reluctant to go ... I hate crowds.

Actually, the temporary fruit shop at S central (the one always sells durians), opposite the Malay barber, is also selling Thai mangoes at $1 each. FIL told me yesterday. But he said they were toooo overripe liao.

Ya, I was caught by surprise too. Did not read the papers before I left the house, do didn't know about the official opening and that's why I had a shock when I saw the crowd there this morning.

Inside, there's a super long Q for some electrical gadgets that are going on super low price, part of the official opening specials.

$1 a piece is cheap, but I hate to buy from those fruit sellers. They look at you like you are the greatest criminal whenever you touch one mango, like as if I would start pressing the mango like some other people do! I don't press the mangoes when I buy them. I go by 'eye-power', so used to buying them, there's no need to press for ripeness, but don't understand some people, must press every piece before buying, no wonder those fruit sellers are suspicious of EVERYONE!

My mother-in-law told that in Chong Bang market (Yishun) was selling at $3 for 3 mangoes! Very sweet and really value for money. Yesterday I was at Nex and saw a fruit vendor selling 3 mangoes for $2. But never buy as not sure will it be sweet or not?

I managed to get the mangoes from Finest this afternoon. :dancing: :dancing:

The mangoes were so fresh and looked really good (not dried, overripe or \"wrinkled\") and within 3 minutes, I managed to pick 5 bags of mangoes. I was spoilt for choice and could have bought more if DD hadn't stopped me.

Such a steal. Went to counter, gave $10 and still got back 5 cents. Can you imagine 15 mangoes for $9.95 šŸ˜‰ šŸ˜‰

Ya I was surprised too! Was expecting those mangoes to be overriped and shrivelled, since the promotion was already on for so many days... but it turned out otherwise! After I paid for the mangoes, I saw the lady replenish with more stock and very nice ones too. šŸ˜‰
