infant care, Child care, pre school and kindergartens
-
Hi Parents,
Maybe kind of stupid to ask this questions but I really need to get things right before I go further
1) At what age does my child need to attend infant care, child care, pre school and kindergartens?
2) Which of these are mandatory by law?
3) My baby is 6 months old, too early for any of the above?
4) What is the average cost for the above?
Looking forward to helpful parents for the answers -
excited hubby:
Hi, somebody correct me if I am wrong:

1) Infant care = 0 to 2 yrs old
Child care = from year-turning-3 to 6 years old
Pre-school = a general term to describe the years before Primary 1
Kindergartens = usually have classes for kids \"year turning 3\" onwards.
\"Pre-Nursery\" for year-turning-3 yo
\"Nursery\" for year-turning 4 yo
\"Kindergarten 1\" for year-turning 5 yo
\"Kindergarten 2\" for year-turning 6 yo
2) Non of the above are mandatory by law. Only P1 is mandatory by law.
3) Baby 6 months old = Infant Care if you need it.
4) Average cost = varies widely depending on which pre-schools you choose. But Infant care is the most expensive.
All the best. -
