But the funny thing is that they do see their friends wearing underwear and going to the toilet, so that's another thing my kids did - they toilet-trained themselves! Both DS1 and DD came back home one day from school and proclaimed that they don't need to wear diapers anymore - and they never did. They have never even wet their bed.

Before that, I'd not even thot about toilet-training my just-turned 2yo boy. It turned out to be quite a breeze. Minus some accidents(boys!), he's mostly reliable.

After he went to kinddy, one day he told me he don't want pamper and toilet train was a breeze, a few accidents but because he was too into playing. Other than that he's ok. Now just waiting for him to tell me he does not want pamper during bedtime.

Interestingly, the bedtime diaper was the easiest. i realised he could actually hold, and I think the diaper is wet only towards the morning. So what I did was let him wear a diaper to bed, but I'd bring him to the toilet before I go to sleep myself late at night. Then in the morning when he woke, I'd bring him to the toilet straightaway, and show him that his diaper is DRY! Then I'd let him carry his dry diaper out of the room to show-off to everyone else in the house. HAHA. After a while, I left the diaper off after bringing him to toilet at night, and praise him for not wetting his pants in the morning. Then finally didn't bother with diaper at all.

And a older one. So now certain things I take it easy. The older one was trained much earlier. By 1.5 yrs toilet trained during day and night was about 2yos.
