Hi qq_guy
Hi,thks for your reply. May I noe how old is your gal ? Y you say ur gal dun learn much thing?
So hows the Eager Beaver? good ?
Actually I m staying at Blk 726 yishun st 71. I intend to try YMCA, I dun know gd a not lei. Ve you heard b4?
Where you stay?
Actually finding a good cc really not ez,but must convenience to my mil hse aso,as she fetch kids for me, I thot averbel is gd,as is quite near to my MIL hse.
My gal is currently at the Averbel and she is there for 2 months. So far, I dun find her learn much in this CC and that's why we have decided to switch her to Eager Beaver @ Yishun Central.
We intended to put her half day at Averbel intitally but I was told by the Principle that they only have full day childcare when she called to inform me there is a place for my gal. I am paying the full day rate even though my gal just attended half day lesson with them. Recently, my MIL found out from other parents that the CC are charging them half day rate which I found I was being \"cheated\".
We also noticed that the CC served maggi mee for lunch which we dun feel comfortable for her to eat maggi mee at such young age. That’s why we decided to withdraw from this CC.
Maybe you can consider The Little Skool House International that located in the Hospital permises or Nauture Star @ SAFAR country club if distance is not an issue to you. We have visited The Little Skool House International today and we are impressed with the school facilities and the teachers as well as their Curriculum but because of the distance issue, we have dropped our idea and enroll my gal at Eager Beaver instead. -

Hi Hifive

it the cc good?
Intend to put my 18mths kids there ?
I am looking for a full-time ccc. Any good recommendation?
If you are looking for full day ccc, I am not able to share much because my DS2 is in kindy (3.5 hr type).
My friend has placed her child in YWCA ccc at Blk 75x yishun (can't remember the exact block). Only heard from her that there are a lot of writing for her K1 child.
Heard from neighbours that My Little Campus at Blk 844 (near Khatib MRT) not bad, but there is waiting list. You may want to drop by and visit the centre if this is not too far for you.
Hope you will find a suitable ccc for your child soon. -

How about YMCA and Averbel at Yishun located at the 700 series?
Hi ppnqq,
For Averbel i personally don like the learning process due it very slow, the teachers is also keep changing and as i know there is more part time teachers to full time teachers more over they are china teachers only 1 indian and 1 singaporean teach english. My Ds attend 1and half years since N2, last year he (K1) only had 1 outing and 1 learning jounery.
The fees just increase from 610 to 700 before subsidy i don mind paying more if the cc is good.
If u r staying near by there is also one pcf cc at blk 781 last july just open enviroment is totally clean but for the learning processing i not sure.
Or u wan to find better wan(not compare to those branded cc) ANGLE CARE CENTRE @626 my friends kids attending over there i felt that is quite good. Feel free u can go over they display the students artworks all over the centre window to let parents see. And some Notice to let the parents know when does the centre bring them out to library etc... If i not wrong there is also learning journey per term not included the library trip.
I personally like the centre to have this kind of outing and learning journey cause the kids are long term attending the cc so i felt if there no outing or learning journey there will be bored through out the kindergarden days.
so ur kids still at averbel ? -
Hi qq_guy
My gal going to be 2yrs this coming May. We have been asking her what she has learned in school, she replied shake hand, cooking, colour etc which we have already taught her at home. Furthermore, the CC mostly used Chinese to communicate with the kids. The reason for me to put her at the CC is to let her learn English coz my PIL who have been taking care of her have been communicating with her in Chinese. Of course, we have encountered some not so good experience with the CC as well.
I just enrolled her at Eager Beaver and her lesson will only begin in May (just a three hours lesson, they call it flexi care). We have visited the school last Sat and we are happy with the teachers and facilities. Maybe you can drop by and found out more about this CC. If my gal is adopting well and happy with this school, we will continue to put her under the half day then full day child care coz my gal very sticky to my PIL.
I am staying at Blk 146 and Averbel indeed very near to my block but seems like my gal don’t really like this CC recently that is the main reason why we decided to withdraw and enrolled her to Eager Beaver.
I never heard before YMCA but I can only advise you to go to the CC and take look, talk to the teacher and bring your child along. Your child will be spending most of his / her time at the CC so she / he must be comfortable with the teachers and environment. I have made a mistake not going down CC coz I just put my name at the waiting list through phone.
BTW, your MIL staying at which block? If she stays near to S-11 food court, you can consider Eager Beaver just walking distance to Yishun Central. I hear the CC will be opening a new class for toddler. So you might able to get a place there immediately , no need to under the waiting list. You may take a look at their blog to find out what the kid learned in the CC

It depends on individual, think her child didn't like the cc because of a lot of writing work (which may be necessary because he's already K1 this year). -

Hi rykiel,
2 of my children are currently in EB Yishun. One in N2, the other in K2. I ask them regularly about the food for lunch in school. Usually they have rice, porridge, bee hoon or spaghetti. This morn I asked my K2 if the school ever serves maggi mee. He said nope.
