1) Susie bought 5 kg of flour and 4 kg of sugar for $14.80. If 3/4 kg of flour coast as much as 3/5kg of sugar, find the cost of 1 kg of sugar ?

2)The no of marbles Aaron has is 8 more than 4 times that of Bala’s. The no of marbles that Najib has is 5 more than 1/8 of Aaron’s. Najib has 9 fewer marbles than Bala. How many marbles do they have altogether.

Wendy ------ 2 parts
Pei Fen ------ 5 units

2 units ------ 1 part + 8 (The dress cost $8 more than the blouse.)

9 units ------ 128 +16 ------ 144
1 unit -------16

1 part ------ 32 – 8 ------24
2 parts ------- 48

Wendy had $48 at first.

Good Morning.

I tried to rush out the solution in text form last night because of “SOS”.
Units and Parts is used to differentiate the fractions of Wendy and Pei Fen. As seen from the MD, they are of different units of measurement.

I’ll take it that calculators can be used for your questions.
For Q1, you may use MD or work in tabulated form using Number* Value Method.

As for Q2, I did a quick check, the answer is 179 marbles. I’ll post the solution at a later time if there is no solution coming from other members.
