Is anyone else going to the Parent Volunteer meetup on Monday?
no? i didn't hear about this?
was there a letter or did you sign up during orientation or something?
i think i didn't hand in the Parent Support Group form during ds1's orientation even though i filled it up, so technically I'm still not a PSG member or Parent Volunteer.
but we did offer our services to the school via emails through the teachers. and we do go on field trips to help out.
I hope to join formally when dd is older and I can be more active and \"useful\" to others. haha.
Please update us over here after the meet up ok? See what else we can do to help.. Or at least for me, what I can prepare myself for in the meantime. -

Hi All,
This is the Calendar of Events for Term Two - picture not very clear as DD takes it with the HP and MMS to me and I upload here to share with you all
:D.
DD says it is attached together with the P's letter comprising of 7 pages . Guess I will read it later when I am home.
Looking at the calendar - my DD will be very busy & stressful this Term as her EL & MT SA1 Oral starts in Week 4, follows by EL &MT SA1 Listening Compre in Week 6 and all subjects SA1 papers in Week 8
Guess mummy here has more to do and prepare her for the exams but am looking forward for this coming Saturday Parent-Teacher Meeting too  -

They had a signup sheet at orientation for it, so I got a phone call about it. It's Monday morning (28/3) from 8-10am (I'm going to be a bit late). It's a couple of rooms down from where they sold the uniforms. If you intended to volunteer, I'm guessing they probably will not mind if you show up. Hm... unless it's specific to P1... well you could call the school and check.ExpatMom:

LKVM:
Hi LKVM,
Wow the sheet looks pretty busy schedule
No worries! DD briefly told me the content of the P's letter and it mentions the following:-
P1 - there will be no formal Assessment in Terms 1 and 2; only formal bite-sized form of Assessment will be conducted in Term 3 and 4 :rahrah:
The school has introduced the use of \"bite-sized\" forms of assessment to help build pupils' confidence and desire to learn. It has also placed less importance on Semestral Examinations in Primary 1 so as to smoothen pupils' transition from pre-school to primary school.
I type the above based on DD narrates the content to me over the phone so I hope I am not missing any important information

Expat Mom,
Tough for me to attend the briefing with the baby. I think I'll continue to volunteer adhoc first. Will sign up formally when dd goes to nursery.
Would love to hear from you what they have for parents to do though.
Champion, thanks for the info. I haven't received anything. Seems like I might get it the latest, again. I did check ds file this time, but no letter yet.
I like a busy schedule! It means the kids have a lot of stuff to engage in!
ds is starting his swimming this term too. Hope it doesn't rain so much and affect the lessons!

Hello All,
Will you all be attending the Parents-Teacher-Meeting (PTM) tomorrow? Am excited and looking forward to it. This time I tell dear hubby,\"Oh, I need Not run round the school lioa - the letter mentioned that parents will be ushered to the individual classroom after the P's message in the school hall!\"
Although this is her 3rd year lioa but DD1 still asked the same question,\" Do I need to wear school uniform tmr? Must I stay in the class for the whole 3.5 hours? I will be very tired because later I am having piano class!\"
