How true is your information? Maybe we need to verify with the Principal or MOE Minister to confirm this. Bukit Merah area already are shortage in primary school supply & yet planning to move to Woodlands?Dear parents, I hv heard some rumors from a friend in the teaching service, that Radin Mas may be moving to Woodlands in the near future.
Quite astounding, but MOE has done such things before.
Has anyone heard anything like this?
Thanks in advance
If the news going to be true, meaning the entire Bukit Purmei estate would have some form of major development. Maybe have to get info from property analysts.
Better verify this information fast as guess most parents in here would have No.2 or No.3 joining in Phase 1 in the future. -

My ds is having the spelling this week which is tomorrow. I believe is on schedule. As for the chinese spelling, it was done last week.Anyone's child started \"Beware of the Cat\" for English?
My dd's class supposed to have the 1st spelling for \"Beware of the Cat\" last week but was told later no spelling as the FT has not started on this topic yet...

Woodland is to far for the kids. I believe they should relocate to some nearby school as most of the students are from bukit purmei that area. How true is your information? Agree any such move will gravely impact many, esp if the students have siblings in waiting to enter RMPS. I believe any plans for such a drastic relocation must be announced way in advance, and should definitely not affect the current cohort of students. The \"near future\" should be at least 5 or 6 years' away, after notice from MOE.
This rumor came from a concerned friend of mine, who is looking to enrol his two kids at RMPS in a few years' time. (And I'll certainly ask him for his source of info.)
Indeed, the best way to validate this is to ask the Principal herself, as MOE has to consult her before reaching a decision. However, I am not sure if she will disclose this prematurely. But if anyone has access to her...
Notwithstanding the fact that RMPS is being upgraded (and this is an affirmation from the Principal that she prefers to remain in that location for now), it is also true that MOE has not shied from relocating established schools to other parts of Singapore before. This is in response to demographic shifts and for consolidation of resources.
In fact, MOE can easily move another school (Blangah Rise?) to take over the compound. Or it can be left vacant temporarily, to cater for other schools undergoing PRIME.
In terms of catering to the future needs of residents in the Bt Purmei/Telok Blangah area, the fact that Blangah Rise is not at full capacity (33% full) cannot be ignored. For the larger Bt Merah zone, there is also a new Cantonment Primary school (44% full).
While nothing is for certain in Singapore, personally, I don't believe this rumor is true and judging by the responses thus far, I feel better already.
Sorry for any undue alarm caused! -

I see the Vice Principal more than the Principal.
But like what you said, the Principal won't announce it so prematurely even if it is true.
One thing for sure, the teachers are not aware. At least those whom I spoke to. -
