Hi QMS,
Thanks for the info, really appreciate it greatly. Maybe would consider enroll RMPS since maybe next time can use the Student Care service if the child is in P3 onwards. RVPS no doubt is a good school but really the location & distance to bus stop seem far from the school. -

Hi Titank!
You have alternative arrangement for your child in P1 and P2?
Seems like your child is assured of a place regardless in RVPS or RMPS. So, just make a decision based on your needs. :celebrate: -
Hi qms,
Yes both RVPS & RMPS are good schools in the Bukit Merah & Central area. Would do serious evaluation & select based on my needs.
Being thinking P1,P2 do they really need BAAC service as I believed that at P1-P2 seem like transition stage.
So you targeting RMPS also? I heard last year the balloting in 1-2 km also have high chance to get in but the school did not reveal me the probability. -
Chipmunks:
Titank, I've more or less decided to go for P2C RM, and forgo RV. Accessibility is still high on my criteria list. . It's a hassle to apply & withdraw applications, so I'll take a chance.
Ha ha Chipmunks! Looks like we are of the same kind! :celebrate:Chipmunks:
Chipmunks, thank you very much for your information! Very useful indeed! It does seem that our chance is quite high based on your assumptions. :xedfingers:Hv called up RM & they told me no. of PV is less than 30. If this info is accurate, then no. of places left for RM would be (121 - 30) = 91, assuming 0 intake at P2A2.
I've also asked RM whether there is any plan to upgrade the school facade & then reply was 'Not within the next 2 years'
. So the old look is here to stay for a while...
QMS, hv u made up your mind - to go GES or RV or RM ? R u within 1 km from RM ? If so, we have some chance in RM also...

Hi QMS & Chipmunks,
Maybe we would end up all in RMPS & our child would be classmates.
Hi QMS,
Which Student Care is good among the 2 you had recommended?Seem that they provide service for RMPS & CHIJ. -
hi qms / chipmunk
don't overlook the fact that Phase 2B are not just for PV.
Phase 2B
For a child whose parent has joined the school as a parent volunteer not later than 1 July 2008 and has given at least 40 hours of voluntary service to the school by 30 June 2009; or whose parent is a member endorsed by the church/clan directly connected with the school; or whose parent is endorsed as an active community leader. -

Yes, understood. That's why we rather err on the side of conservatism. Assuming there will be 20 applications in Phase 2A2, it means there will be 50 places left for Phase 2B and 2C each. Community leaders will take up places in Phase 2B. They will not encroach into the 50 already allocated for Phase 2C.
That's what I said earlier, the issue now is how many applications will there be for Phase 2A2. -

Hi Titank!
Yes, indeed, depending on how the school allocates classes.titank:
Personally, I think Cherie Hearts is better. I attended their open house before, and the place looks newer than the SASCO. Besides, Cherie Hearts is a chain, just like Learning Vision and Kinderland - I suppose that means their philosophies are consistent? Meals-wise, I have the impression that Cherie Hearts is better, too. When I was deciding where to place my kids in childcare centres, I actually liked Cherie Hearts more than SASCO. I would have placed them in Cherie Hearts if I hadn't found the current childcare centre they are in. However, I think Cherie Hearts might be more expensive than SASCO.Which Student Care is good among the 2 you had recommended?Seem that they provide service for RMPS & CHIJ.
Distance-wise, Cherie Hearts is nearer to RMPS than SASCO, although both are within walking distance.
