For ds's music training, I've already let go of lots of $$$$$. I got him a custom-made german piano (with his name engraved on it) and had to wait for 7 mths for it to be delivered. The inside of the piano is green in colour (my fav colour), cool rite? πŸ˜‰
      Inside Green?
      Like the Incredible Hulk Green?

Hello everyone, just to update what is happening to my dd in her school. Well, it is one project after another project besides never ending list of school homework. Now I know why some parents don’t send their kid to GEP even though selected. The programme seem to like to give them project β€˜big’ one β€˜small’ one for EL,SS & Sci. So parents interested in GEP, must be prepare to hear the word PROJECT (meeting).

          Hi Daddies/Mummies,

I wonder if you find the idea of a 'answer key' useful...some schools have past year exam papers...and there is an answer key attached at the back which breaks down the marks allocation.
For Science, I find it very useful as it tells me what the keywords are and how to get those precious 2 marks in OE section.
          Sounds Good.
But Have Not Seen Before. Which Book has this?

Agreed with U it's very useful - to understand what they award Marks for ....
Quite Often I Scratch My Head, coz not sure why marks R deducted, or marked X = Zero Marks for my Gal's Science Paper 2 .... :?

There was a Science question in CA1...son told me he couldn't figure out why he didn't get the full 2 marks until he saw somewhat similar in RGPS. Apparently, he missed out the word 'condenses' and that keyword 'cost' 1 mark. HOD told me no point having answer key (mock paper) bcos teachers will tell the students what are the keywords. I think he missed my point and I don't quite see the need to go on.
Last year, in one Science mock paper, there was an answer key attached.

I wonder did those top students score as well for Science as compared to the other 3 subjects...? πŸ‘…

Haha, I know i sound mean, but PH's science results are nowhere near spectacular leh.. 😐 for other subjects, I agree PH's done very well.. but how to attribute 'top students' to this subject?!

Just happens to Browse thru PH Web Site ....
PH Sc Results is Indeed Not as Good as the Other 3 Subj in PSLE 2010.

                15.8% A*, 51% A = 66.9% (A* + A) > National Avg 43.2%
                Now Is that Good? :?

Last SA2, my girl was confused with one of the questions. She spent time in the public library to read books related to it and posed her research to her Science tr over email. A day later, HOD Sci called my girl at home. The first question was, \"You did so much just for that 1 mark?\" I was on the other end of a connected phone. That, certainly did not impress on me as a professional educator. 😐

You are so right! The problem they have to depend on parents to shuffle them to their friend's house to do the project. Not indept enough. Really tough for parents. Worse the deadline is so tight, really like working world. :x No wonder someone comment that they can do well in JC, well train so young and after 3 yrs + of practice, why not?
