I did go over for a visit @ Kinderland YCK because a staff called me back as a follow-up to me enquiring @ their booth during the Motherhood Fair.

All in all I'll say the place is huge, clean, the kids looks happy, curriculum seems OK.
It's thematic, 1 theme per term.
Their teacher-student ratio is 1:10 to 1:12, so I thought that it was OK.
I went over to the childcare building to look @ the playgroup kids & they told me that there's no half-day childcare for nursery-age children.
They have a huge, huge outdoor playground for the younger kids & an open play area in front for the older kids.
I was impressed that kindergarten kids have music classes in the curriculum conducted by Crestar.
However, a question that I posed regarding HFMD & their policy on informing parents about it left me uncomfortable.

Anyway... Wesley @ Serangoon North is @ a void deck.
      No frills childcare I'll say.
My parents stays across the place (I can see the place from my bedroom window @ my parents')... and she's not too keen on me sending my boy there though.
There's a playground next to the block, so I'm guessing the kids do outdoor play there.. though I've never seen them do that.
Think best is to go down & talk to the staff & do a tour.

      Hey chie
Tried convincing hubby to take a look @ Shaws but he's pretty smitten with Cambridge @ Poh Huat Crescent because he thinks it's pretty cosy, super near to my parents' place so my dad can drive & pick my boy up & very affordable (leaving us extra $ for more Gymboree & Montessori enrichment classes).
I think they're alright too... I like the fact that they don't cram too many kids there.
But still feel we could have taken a look @ Shaws

        Hi,

ANyone has any feedback on Treasurebox @ Parry Ave?

I went there during their open house and find their Curiculum very interesting. The only pull-back is the charges…

        Thanks for your reply.

          Hi Everyone,

          I’m new here.
My girl is turning 2 years old this year and we live in serangoon north as well.

Anyone with recommendation for pre-school/playgroup/nursery for 2 or 3 years old?

In addition, for 2 years old kid to start schooling around 2 years old, must I enrol her now?

And if for 2 years old kid to start schooling at 3 years old, must I enrol her now or next year when she is 3 years old?

I’m sorry everyone, I’m totally not sure about schooling arrangement for children.
          Can anyone kindly advice me?

          Best regards

            Hi MJ,

We also stay in the same area and have been looking around for a preschool for our 2.5 yo girl. From our understanding, there's no standard enrolment time, really depends on individual kindy or CCC and also their availability.

We visited 4 CCCs recently - Cambridge, Schoolhouse by the garden, Preschool by the Park (Li Hwian and Carmichael). We visited Schoolhouse by the garden a 2nd time today with our girl and she seems to like it too. She will be starting in dec.

More details on my blog http://www.nagmummy.com/?p=175

hi, i m sending my son to zoo phonic @ serangoon central, i stay hougang n need to engage school bus service. I had done some survey but still not so sure about the bus fare. The driver tat appointed by the school (3rd party) call me up this morn informing the charges is $130 for 2 way and i ask him about 1 way charges, he said only $20-$30 different.

Would any mummies advise me is this the standard rate? Or can anyone share their bus service contact with me for NE area? By any chance any mummies/daddies here sending their kid to pre-school around the same area (930am-100pm), would u mind fetching my son along? Token of appreciation will be given, kindly email me to discuss. [email protected]
