HI Callie,
Your daughter's school really ON. :scared:
I thought my daughter's school is ON in the sense that teacher teaches synthesis, tenses etc but yours lagi more steady. Although no CA/SA, there will be Formative Assessments at the end of this term (w.e.f Term 2). -

Don't know having CA is good or not leh but no choice, have to go with the flow... but actually a bit a bit also good lah. If one time have to revise 2 terms work can be quite tedious and siong!!HI Callie,

Hi Callie, my older kid had CA1, SA from young…stressful but it taught me the importance of daily revision. I am always planning what subject/topic to revise everyday. Term 3 is the ‘best’ as I can take it a little easier as there isnt CA2…so I get him to revise more intensively.

Hi Janet, Sorry for the dealy I am away from my PC...HI Plum-cake,
Can I check with you regarding daily schedule ?
I plan daughter's schedule from the time she returns home, takes shower, lunch followed by homework and nap. Mon/Tue night learn Eng spelling, Wed/Thur night learn CL spelling...find it impossible to coach her for vocab, grammar for eg after that. Can you provide some tips how you do work with your gal pls ? Thanks.
Time managements is very poor in my side. On mondays, tuesdays and wed.days she reaches home around 4.30. from school. so I give priority to home works and piano practice. each 30 mins. that will be someware around 6-7. another 30 min for the work sheets that I give from assesment books. thursdays for maths problem solving 5-10 qs only. Fridays compo writing. using fairfeild picture guided compo and learners composition strategies. I teach spelling in the mornings while waiting for van  really no time. sometimes I feel guilty you know why....
weekends are for teaching new topics. which includes grammar as well.

Hi plum cake,
It’s ok…you could be busy shopping for books…hence the delay. Just Joking…hahaha.
Your gal reaches home at 430pm at P2 ? Wow…must be mad rush for time to finish homework. I know what that madness is bcos my son has suppl lesson Tue/Thur. -
I read with interest about time management.
DS1 and DS2 will be in school afterclub from 3.30pm to 6pm. DS1 will be doing Chapter 2 P2 Challenging Maths, and DS2 will read First Aid in English Readers. Unfortunately, the afterclub staff do not like to see my DC studying, and will not let them sit in a quiet room. This means other kinds tend to interrupt their work. Now it is spring, staff also take the kids to play in the school grounds (which is fine). But they steadfastly detest the work I do with them. However, this use of tmem allows me to let the DC to chill, relax and have fun at home. As an aside I have argued with afterclub staff who feel my kids should be allowed to play after a long day at school. I have taken this up with the soft headmaster who agrees with me, but actually does nothing.
When DC are not at afterclub, they watch TV and play games till 6.30pm, at which point I allocate reading and written work for them.
I have not factored in cello practise time  because I keep focussing on Eng and Maths. -
Hi mummies,
Hubby and I were at IMM as gal had extra class. Naturally legs brought me to popular. Wanted to see if there is any promo for Eng assessment…to my delight, there are grammar and vocab books from p1-6 (except vocab for p6). Promo only starts from 1st April…no apr fool joke. So I reserved to pay on sat. 4 for $10. EPH publications. -

I have not found definitive English books. I do have one question to ask: Do the EPH (P1 to P6) Excel in Comprehension also cover comprehension cloze. I need something like this.
Thanks. -

Personally, I get books based on recommendations from friends, my gut feel and promotion.

I'm giving my son more practice in Comprehension OE, comprehension cloze and synthesis, not that other areas are good but little I can do with those sections. Reserved another 2 books as well to pay tomorrow.
They are Learning Vocabulary for P6 and Success in Comprehension P6.
These are the ones on promotion from today.
