the school are not selecting their student, but selecting their parents first. šŸ˜Ž

Actually We r rejected by the West grove for the PV, dun know what reason, they only ask us whether got enough time to do PV during interview, we said no problem, any thime. then they reject. 😢

      mummy of 3:
I think all the stress is from the parents ba... I heard Rulang is particular in PV and they only choose ard 30... But Rulang is the best sch in west area...

        Hi, Dear all,

I am thinking of sending my girl into Rulang, but heard is very very hard. but, just be curious, what exactly are the unique for that school so that so many want their children in? Academic? any one give me more solid reason?

Could be very stressful, right? my girl is kind of shy, I dun know whether she can survive in very stressful place. :? :stupid:

Please, help! I need decide whether go into the painful process of trying to get her in, starting from PV first ~~ :x
        hi,
i've 4 nieces/ nephew in rulang, plus many friends' kids and neighbor's kids there since i live in the area.

more HW is one thing, the tests and HW is harder too. initially no comparison cos my nieces/ nephew are older and my son was not in pr sch yet. but my friend's kid recently transferred to rulang. they just opened a new p3 class consisting entirely of new transfers from other schs' p2 kids who did v well.

my friend said her kid found the tasks harder. only chinese was about the same std as her prev sch.

though there's lots of hw, cos my nieces/ nep will be doing hw when we hv gatherings, they still like sch and enjoy their ccas so i think it is not that bad where they can't cope with the stress.

for me, i didn't send my son there cos he's the playful sort, and a morning person. and he happens to be passionate abt a cca that is not rulang's niche, so i just picked another sch that suited him better.

Thanks for ur valuble info. šŸ˜„

the good side from more HW and hard HW/test is, if the kid can cope with stress/competition well, its good for their future development.

I try my best to get Rulang PV first šŸ™ , as we living 1-2km and not parents with some speciality, sign  .

Haha...I am just curious - maybe I can try asking and might have a chance to transfer my dear DD1 over! :rotflmao:

                  hihi!
ya, i've become more and more entrenched into this forum, so hv started watching more and more threads, haha.

i am not sure abt selection. will jus share what i know fr her. my friend's dd had already been on the waitlist. think she didn't get in during p1 reg and was placed on waitlist. whenever rulang has vacancy, they'll call up those on waitlist.

so last yr, yr end, my friend was asked to submit her dd's prev sch test/ exam results. since her dd was among the top in the other sch, she was shortlisted.

one of my nieces is also in p3 so i thought maybe they'd be in the same class but my niece and later my friend told me about the new class thingy.

apparently a new class was set up. they have 3A to 3H, with H as the best class, G 2nd and so on. But the new class is 3J. There is no 3I.

my friend's dd says her classmates are all new to Rulang and from different schools, but mostly around the Jurong area. and obviously, all of them were amongst the top in their prev schools. šŸ™‚

you can try asking, i think, cos that class is not full yet. My niece's class has 40+ kids but the new class has only 30+ now.

your dd did so well, I'm sure they will consider her. BUT!!! I still hope you will be active at our old haunt lei, else I will miss you!!!

                    Hi bingjun,
If I am not RL is so popular bcos of its academic performance. Not only is it the best Primary school in JW, it is also producing many students with good academic results (> 275 for PSLE) constantly over the last few years.
Like what some of the fellow forumers say, RL is super stringent with the PVs that they accept. There may still be balloting depending on how many grass root leaders sign up with RL in p2b. So play safe, best if stay < 1km wuthin RL. Nevertheless, in my opinion, once accepted as PV, I think more than half e battle won liao.

I was discussing with DH if we should try to sign up as PV with RL too. Eventually decided against it. Didnt want to stress DD so much.

By the way, u mentioned that WG rejected you as PV, meaning they are cutting down the PVs that they are accepting? Last year, quite a few parents who perform PVs got balloted out. I m still wondering if I should sign up with WG when ut is DD's time. Dun want to waste my time to perform 40 hours then ger ballot out.

                      Hi

Anyone here know how many PVs (rulang) being selected for this year P1 enrolment.

                      Thanks.

Ya, yes, WG rejected my PV šŸ˜ž , they did stated on the form they need 35 PV this time, so think quite high chances to get in the sch if u r PV. but 😢 i was rejected.

now for me case, since I am not PV with WG, will be in phase 2C, low chance. if not into WG, most prob will go to boon lay garden sch, same as two of my neighbours. Thats why i am thinking of trying PV in Rulang, if lucky to be selected, then i can move to Rulang area. if not selected as PV, then still register in WG (WG is within 1km, rulang 1-2km), not successful, go to boon lay garden :stupid: very FAN ...

BTW, anyone know how is Boon lay garden sch?
