Nowadays, the assessment is held only when the teacher has ascertained that the class is ready for the test (or so I was told). Hence, if the teacher hasn't touched on the particular topic, and it is tested in the assessment, the test will not take place.
All classes will have the same topics being tested right?
For instance, the Term 1 unit review, we all know the assessments will take place during that 2 weeks. So if the FT is able to finish the topics on time, there will be more time for revision right? -

Yes, this is how it works for MT, as MT teacher is able to complete the topics on time and move on to revision. .
I understand from dd about 1/3 of her class score very well for MT and she always comments how interesting the MT lesson is. Parents who has Zhang Lao Shi as their child's MT teacher may want to share more. Too bad no 2G parents here to feedback abt FT....

I suppose one can only comment if he or she is taught by different teachers, and hence, there is a basis for comparison.
My son has all along been taught by Zhang Lao Shi. Hence, I don't know about other teachers.
Maybe monmon31 would like to comment, as her son was taught by Zhang Lao Shi last year. -

Last year's top P1 student in Chinese came from a girl in Sun Lao Shi's class.
So, as long as she delivers! :celebrate: -

Her speed of teaching is fast. Last night, my ds completed the chinese workbook worksheet for chapter 9.Judging the speed of her teaching,i believe she will complete the remaining chapters (left of 3 chapters) in 3 weeks time. This is good as kids got more time to do revision and well prepare for coming two tests.Last year's top P1 student in Chinese came from a girl in Sun Lao Shi's class.

Personally, i prefer strict teacher. As one chinese saying, strict teacher produce good quality of student. -

My dd P1 MT teacher was Mr Huang Sin Fatt. She didn't say much about him. But this year, I can see my dd likes Zhang Lao Shi as she said the MT lessons are often filled with laughter, and that he tells the class many interesting stories, uses little rewards for good behaviour & achievements :grphug:I suppose one can only comment if he or she is taught by different teachers, and hence, there is a basis for comparison.
