Hi , my ger is due to register in 2014, i am trying my luck as either grassroots or PV w the school.
As for grassroots, i c my area like quite quiet, only a few blks, like 5 blks… what do the RC do? Will they question my intent on joining? i am staying within 1 km from the sch but not guarante got space based on past records.
Can anyone advise if the criteria is stringent on joining RC, and how active u must be before u become an executive member. -
hi, anybody know for henry park primary school, which grassroots to apply to? what to do to become EM? only when become EM can be considered phase 2B?

Hi Kiddoflower, I am not familiar with Henry Park PS but I just want to give you an advice. Besides knowing which RC/NC to join, you must also aware that it must be where you reside. If you serve in a RC and you do not reside in that zone, you are considered AM and won't enjoy the P2B privilege.
To become EM, in short, you need to be active and contribute. To become EM may also depends on other factors like whether the RC has meet its quota on EM and the Chairman/CM supporting the RC. You need to be EM for 1 yr of continuous service before you're eligible for the P2B. Do also note the recent boundary changes that may affect the GRO that you want to serve. Pls also reads past postings. Many of these info have been elaborated. -
thanks tim, i intend to find a place and shift to near HPPS. so i guess it will be the holland bukit timah RC i need to join.

wonder if anyone has experience to share about going to Meet Ppl Session to appeal. I’m officially around 3 month short of 1 year as EM and been advised to go on that route. Sad to say there was so much delays on this although I was already registered as a EM in the RC meeting in June last year.

EM = Executive Member (all confirmed RC members are knows as EM, include those who hold exec position like Chairman, Secretary etc). Also known as Grassroots Leader (GRL).
You join RC as Observers. Depending on your contributions and commitment, you will be made an EM some months later (usually 6 or more months but can be as short as 3 months). However, this is subjected that you passed PA's screening. From becoming an EM officially, you need 12 months of service to qualify for the P2B. So, example, to apply for P1 under P2B this May/Jun 11 for 2012 intake you need to be an EM before or on 30 Jun 10. -

Moulmein-Kallang is also another popular GRC to join as GRL now -

Hi
The delay is on which part? The duration from your chairman put forth his recommendation (as EM) till PA send you an official letter confirming you are an EM?
How do you know you are a EM in the RC meeting? Through the attendance sheet? Minutes? Or...?
If you are registered as a EM in Jun 10, I thought you should qualify for this year P1 registration for P2B?
