Oh I was there too this afternoon to buy the Coleman sleeping bag! I didn't choose the winner deluxe as it is kind of big for my dd to handle. I also think tt it is thicker then the Coleman one. I bought a flatable pillow for my dd also. 😉

        Hi vlim,

I bought the sleeping bag & whistle from Beach Road shops. We met 1 of my DD's classmate & the parents there...they were also hunting for sleeping bags. The sleeping bag cost $16. I didn't but compass though, I think she may not know how to use it :? Where did you get the inflatable pillow? After using easy to keep?

Last night I helped my DD pack the camping bag. She will be using a big backpack and a day bag. But she doesn't have any suitable sling bag for day time...I let her use a smaller backpack. Now come to think of it, how to carry 2 backpacks when she goes to sch this fri? :? What kind of sling bag ur DD using?

My husband actually opened up the sleeping bag and taught DD how to fold & roll it back 🙂 Though she said the backpack is not heavy, I see it's rather big for her size 😉 She just recovered from cough....may hv to bring along the ventolin and flixotide inhaler...sighz...so troublesome.

oh I put her toiletries plus clothes inside the backpack. The sleeping bag and the day bag(sling) I put them all into a shoulder carry bag. So in total she is carrying 2 bags.

I bought the flatable pillow at Giant also. emmm...need a bit of time to let the air come out to flaten it la...so I told my dd in case really no time to totally flaten the pillow ..just stuff it into the shoulder carry bag 😉 . this morning just went to buy one more set of PE attire for her.

btw, just checked with Mr Goh that the girls need to wear the skirt there and they will be giving us a few contact number for emergency contact. 😄

Somehow, I was kind of glad that that I didn’t let my P3 go for camp as my P4 will have her camp this week too. That will be double the chaos for us. My P4 dd told my P3 ds that she will have to borrow his PE shorts for her camp this week. I am still contemplating if I should try to drop by Shirley to get more shorts… (if I’ve the time).

We also taught my P4 on how to fold the sleeping bag last night. She ended up with 2 bags. I was like maybe you should just bring a luggage to school but think it’s not allowed.

if u going to shirley to get the pe attire…please take note of the operation hour. I reached there at about 11.30 am and realised that it opens from 12noon to 8 pm. So I waited for it to open…Sunday and PH close.

mmm - for the p4 camp, the kids are allowed to wear home clothes, so no need to buy extra pe shorts for that purpose. they only need to wear pe attire to school on thur.

anyway, shirley should be in tomorrow at the school tuckshop to sell uniforms etc cos they will be there every 1st & 2nd tue of the month.

i thought i was the only one scouting around for sleeping bag when i saw no one mentioning last fri. anyway, i bought one ("bot" brand) at $19.90 from a shop called "Adventure 21" at chinatown point. it’s better to get one with the head piece. i understand the coleman brand doesn’t have.

haha. we seem more kancheong than our kids for the preparation of the camp.

as for keeping the sleeping bag after use, i have got my boy a drawstring bag from daiso (which is bigger than the sleeping bag’s bag) to save him the hassle of rolling the sleeping bag into the compact size which i myself find quite tough.

                      Hi 7788,
Thanks for all the tips 🙂

                      Vlim,
Oh I find that the sch does not give clear instructions to all parents. They shld come out with a list of FAQ and let us read. Else so many parents will be emailing and calling Mr Goh and he may be repeating his answers many times (some of our concerns are quite similar).

DD has to wear the skirt on Fri & Sat?? Aiyoh the letter also didn't mention. My DD has only 1 skirt.

I let my DD use my hubby's Deuter backpack. I put all the toiletries, clothes into it and buckle the sleeping bag outside the backpack. Last nite I managed to find 1 of my sling bag  Will let her use my sling bag then 😎

Indeed we are more anxious than them 🙂

Now I'm confused if to let DD bring 2 sets of PE attire or just 1 set. Hubby said just stay 1 night, not necessary to bring 2 sets. :? Cos bedtime they will be wearing pyjamas.

I'm also concern of mosquitos, bought mosquito repellent and mosquito patch too...haha seems quite a no. of items to bring.
