      50 PV for 2013 intake...

They hv more than 250 applicants wat i was told during last yr interview. I tink they make an effort to interview every applicants still interested. Yes, PV dun guaranteed a seat. Higher chance if u stay within 1km (under phase P2B) - much safer. Last 2 yrs, ballot beyond 2km. Not too sure this year.

Didnt know Rulang is such highly popular until now. I am pretty sure the principal, Mrs Lim, will be so glad to know that her school is such highly sought by many parents. πŸ˜‰

ya, judging from what I've read in KSP and what I've heard from parents/ teachers/ relatives around here, it seems Rulang is the only \"non-neighborhood\" school in Jurong.

The rest are kind of level in terms of academic performance, they have ups and downs, but Rulang has been consistently performing well. Don't think can call Rulang a neighborhood school anymore. πŸ™‚

But in terms of popularity, some of the other neighborhood schools are really hot too. Perhaps due to location? Cos from what I hear and read, it seems there is not much difference between the popular and not so popular schools.

Unlike in some other areas like Bukit Timah, where parents have a choice of SAP school, girls or boys vs mixed school and different kind of programmes in the school to choose from, in Jurong West, it is mainly just by location?

I did note that, Jurong West Pri has the vision of \"To be one of the most popular schools in Jurong West by 2010\" or something like that, as I read on the KSP page for the school and on the school website. I think it has achieved its aim indeed! πŸ™‚

              Agree, agree.
E rest of the JW primary schools dun seem to differ very much in terms of academic results n most parents are enrolling their kids to a school near their home then assessing e school's academic performance.

                btw, i have a long-winded question:

will Grass-root leaders go thru balloting? since they are in the same phase as those gone thru PV, which party has the priority? what’s more, they are constrained by 1km and 1-2 km??

So long as you are in P2B, the phase requires balloting for a particular distance category, and you are in that distance category, you will need to go through balloting like all PVs, clan/church members. There is no priority for any group (whether you are a grassroot leader, PV or clan member) when it comes to balloting.

I sometimes feel Rulang has become elite school due to the students cause like the new class all students are 1st and 2nd from other schools but they come to this school for the name and end of the day their PSLE results are good...

Its very difficult to differentiate between good students and good school.. i myself is not sure :?
i can only feel for the schools who constantly have their best leaving... and also, every school, even Rulang, face the heart pain of hving some leave every P3 yr end for GEP schools...

yet they can only smile and congratulate those students who leave.
